Position Overview<\/p>\n
\tOur client is seeking a highly experienced Senior .NET Developer with deep technical expertise across the Microsoft technology stack. This is a critical hire for someone who understands systems end-to-end \u2014 from database architecture and optimisation through to API design and scalable backend services.
\n\tThis role requires a very senior engineer who combines strong corporate experience with hands-on technical depth, and who actively leverages AI tools to enhance productivity, code quality, testing, and solution design.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\nArchitecture & Development<\/p>\n
\tDesign, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using .NET and C#.
\n\tBuild and optimise RESTful APIs and backend services.
\n\tArchitect and maintain robust database structures (SQL Server or similar), ensuring performance and scalability.
\n\tDrive system performance tuning, security, and reliability best practices.
\n\tContribute to high-level architectural decisions and technical strategy.<\/p>\n
AI-Enabled Engineering<\/p>\n
\tUse AI development tools to supercharge coding efficiency, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
\n\tApply AI-assisted approaches to testing, code review, and architectural planning.
\n\tContribute to integrating AI-driven capabilities into products where appropriate.
\n\tStay current with emerging AI tooling and modern engineering practices.<\/p>\n
Corporate & Enterprise Delivery<\/p>\n
\tOperate effectively within structured corporate governance and compliance environments.
\n\tCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Risk, Operations, and Leadership.
\n\tEnsure solutions meet enterprise standards for scalability, maintainability, and security.<\/p>\n
Technical Leadership<\/p>\n
\tProvide mentorship and guidance to mid-level and junior developers.
\n\tPromote engineering excellence, clean code principles, and best practices.
\n\tSupport continuous improvement of development frameworks, standards, and tooling.<\/p>\n
Qualifications \/ Required Skills<\/p>\n
\t8+ years of experience in .NET and C# development.
\n\tStrong expertise across the Microsoft stack (.NET Core, ASP.NET, SQL Server; Azure is advantageous).<\/p>\n
Deep understanding of:<\/p>\n
\tDatabase design and optimisation
\n\tAPI architecture and integration
\n\tSystem scalability and performance engineering
\n\tProven experience within corporate or enterprise environments.
\n\tDemonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools to enhance development workflows.
\n\tStrong understanding of software architecture principles and clean coding standards.
\n\tExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.<\/p>\n
Nice to Have<\/p>\n
\tExperience with Azure cloud architecture and DevOps practices (CI\/CD, containerisation).
\n\tExposure to AI\/ML concepts or experience integrating AI services into applications.
\n\tExperience in fintech, financial services, or regulated environments.
\n\tExperience working in distributed or international teams.<\/p>\n
