Our client, a leader in the sale and servicing of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment, is seeking an experienced Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic to join their workshop and field service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of a wide range of heavy diesel machinery, including construction and earthmoving equipment. The role will also require attending to client breakdowns in the field.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tPerform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on heavy diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
\n\tConduct preventative maintenance and scheduled services according to manufacturer standards.
\n\tDiagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults.
\n\tRespond to field service call-outs and breakdowns efficiently and professionally.
\n\tComplete job cards, service reports, and documentation accurately.
\n\tEnsure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and in good working order.
\n\tLiaise with clients and workshop staff to ensure excellent customer service.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tQualified Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (Trade Test essential).
\n\tMinimum 7 years\u2019 experience working on heavy construction \/ earthmoving equipment (e.g. CAT, Bell, Volvo, Komatsu, Hitachi, etc.).
\n\tSolid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical systems.
\n\tStrong experience using diagnostic tools is of paramount importance.
\n\tMust have own tools and reliable transport.
\n\tWillingness to attend to breakdowns in the field and work overtime when required.
\n\tBilingual \u2013 Afrikaans and English (essential, due to client interaction).
\n\tStrong communication and problem-solving skills.
\n\tPhysically fit and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.<\/p>\n
