{"id":36580,"date":"2026-05-26T10:00:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T10:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/safety-and-health-specialist\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T10:01:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T10:01:10","slug":"safety-and-health-specialist","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/safety-and-health-specialist\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety and Health Specialist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Overview\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop, maintain and continuously improve the Health and Safety (H&amp;S) systems for the site in line with legislative requirements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tMatric (Maths and Science)<br \/>\n\tB.Tech or B.Sc in relevant field such as Environmental Health Safety Management<\/p>\n<p>Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t5 \u2013 8 Years experience in a Chemical Industry<\/p>\n<p>Duties\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<br \/>\nDesign, implement, maintain and improve H&amp;S management systems:<\/p>\n<p>\tDesign, drive implementation, maintenance and improvement of ISO 45000 management systems (Including ISO compliance)<br \/>\n\tEnsure adherence to Omnia Group risk methodology and practices<br \/>\n\tValidate and verify the correct specifications, protocols and standards are applied in the implementation of H&amp;S management systems<br \/>\n\tAssist in development and revision of Health and Safety related documentation and ensure implementation and compliance thereto across site<br \/>\n\tPromote continuous improvement of H&amp;S management systems and processes<br \/>\n\tAlign H&amp;S management systems with holistic IMS for site<br \/>\n\tProvide support and coaching to SHERQ team and customers<\/p>\n<p>Lead Health &amp; Safety Business Risks Assessment and review:<\/p>\n<p>\tDetermine, identify and review H&amp;S risks<br \/>\n\tDetermine and review H&amp;S trends\u00a0<br \/>\n\tAssess and review risk ratings<br \/>\n\tDetermine priorities and actions<br \/>\n\tMaintain risks on IsoMetrix<br \/>\n\tProvide support to line management and SHERQ team on Baselines, Issue Based and Continuous risk assessments<\/p>\n<p>Conduct IMS internal audits:<\/p>\n<p>\tPlanning and scheduling of bi-annual IMS audits<br \/>\n\tConduct audits in order to ensure integrity of systems maintained<br \/>\n\tEnsure reports are issued and findings captured in IMS<br \/>\n\tEnsure findings and actions are closed-out appropriately<br \/>\n\tReport to management on status of findings and actions<br \/>\n\tParticipate and support on verification and external audits<\/p>\n<p>Verify effectiveness of \u00a0action management system:<\/p>\n<p>\tVerify action management system effectiveness through follow up on actions close out effectiveness<br \/>\n\tProvide oversight and coaching on IMS action management to line management and SHERQ team<\/p>\n<p>Conduct investigations:<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure that all events (incidents and non-conformances) are raised and reported<br \/>\n\tBe proficient in leading investigations<br \/>\n\tFacilitate investigations<br \/>\n\tEnsure quality of investigations by standardizing on investigation methodology and ensuring root causes and controls are adequate to remediate<br \/>\n\tEnsure investigation is captured in IsoMetrix<br \/>\n\tEnsure investigation actions are managed<br \/>\n\tMake use of other events (incident &amp;
