\tLead the regional business and commercial bank division with strategic vision and entrepreneurial thinking. Drive sustainable growth across lending and transactional banking, embed risk and governance, and deliver client-centric solutions that create meaningful impact. This role requires a leader who can simplify complexity, inspire confidence, and foster innovation across the division, in line with Investec’s purpose & values.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Relationship Management:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBuild deep, trusted relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
\n\tDrive entrenchment within the client base via product offering, and integration between product specializations across lending and transactional banking.
\n\tA key focus is on increasing utilisation and facility growth of both transactional and lending products into clients, with a view to greater revenue generation for the bank
\n\tDeliver on the strategies developed to enhance client experience and partnership
\n\tCollaborate with Specialist Bank divisions to unlock opportunities for clients.<\/p>\n
Business Development:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tExecute sales strategies across lending and transactional banking within the region, both for new and existing clients, in conjunction with national leadership of BCB.\u00a0
\n\tShape and execute plans that consider regional nuances, that deliver accelerated growth. Daily oversight of new business development and solutioning, in conjunction with the heads of these functions.\u00a0
\n\tIdentify and pursue new business opportunities in lending and transactional banking externally and within the bank.\u00a0
\n\tRepresent Investec at client and industry forums to enhance brand visibility.<\/p>\n
Financial Management:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tJoint responsibility, together with frontline leaders, for regional P&L, revenue, and cost control. Manage budgets effectively, identifying opportunities for profitability and efficiency.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tRecruit, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of relationship managers, new business developers and solutioning consultants.\u00a0
\n\tChampion talent development, succession planning, and inclusive leadership.\u00a0
\n\tDrive and measure performance relative to KPIs, including showing up within the Investec culture and values.
\n\tRepresent BCB on the Pretoria Regional Management Forum, building relationships across leadership within the region<\/p>\n
Market Analysis & Marketing:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMonitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.\u00a0
\n\tGuide marketing campaigns, events and budgets to attract and retain clients.<\/p>\n
Risk & Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tEmbed robust risk, compliance, and governance frameworks across the division. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.<\/p>\n
Qualifications, Experience and Skills<\/p>\n
\tStrong commercial acumen and deep understanding of financial services products, including lending and transactional banking.
\n\tFAIS accreditation (required to operate as a licensed representative for intermediary services across long \u00a0and short term deposits) preferred.
\n\tProven leadership and people management capability.
\n\tAnalytical skills for interpreting data and driving insights.
\n\tExperience in contract negotiation, risk assessment, and P&L management.
\n\tRelevant tertiary qualifications (Finance, Accounting, Business) and professional certifications are advantageous.
\n\tExtensive experience in commercial banking leadership with full P&L responsibility.
\n\tTrack record of delivering growth and managing complexity.
\n\tStrong credit and risk management experience.
\n\tExpertise in budgets, forecasts, and marketing campaigns.<\/p>\n
