\tA well-established industrial automation and systems integration company specializing in control systems, PLC programming, SCADA solutions, and project support for manufacturing and industrial environments, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Automation & Systems Engineer to join their team in Amanzimtoti.
\n\tThe successful candidate will play a key role in PLC programming, SCADA configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project execution. This position offers a combination of office-based responsibilities and on-site technical support, providing excellent exposure to industrial automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities
\nAutomation and Controls<\/p>\n
\tDevelop, modify, and maintain PLC programs, primarily on Delta PLC platforms
\n\tPerform program uploads, downloads, and structured logic modifications
\n\tTroubleshoot control systems and resolve software-related issues
\n\tSupport commissioning, testing, and validation of automation systems<\/p>\n
SCADA and Systems<\/p>\n
\tConfigure, maintain, and optimize SCADA systems
\n\tDevelop and manage tags, alarms, trends, and operator interfaces
\n\tImplement system upgrades, modifications, and troubleshooting activities
\n\tWork with VTScada and similar SCADA platforms<\/p>\n
Project and Technical Support<\/p>\n
\tAssist with planning and execution of automation projects
\n\tIndependently manage smaller projects from inception to completion
\n\tMonitor timelines, deliverables, and project progress
\n\tContribute to process improvements and ROI-driven initiatives<\/p>\n
Documentation and Data Management<\/p>\n
\tMaintain and update system documentation, data packs, and data books
\n\tUpdate electrical drawings, I\/O lists, and control documentation
\n\tCompile reports and perform analysis using Excel
\n\tAssist with Power BI reporting and dashboards where applicable<\/p>\n
Procurement and Coordination<\/p>\n
\tSource and evaluate supplier quotations
\n\tAssist with technical specifications and component selection
\n\tCoordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal departments<\/p>\n
Factory Floor and Site Support<\/p>\n
\tProvide technical support during commissioning, breakdowns, and upgrades
\n\tConduct fault finding and assist with system optimization
\n\tWork closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure operational efficiency<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tN4 to N6 in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or similar qualification
\n\tDiploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred
\n\t4\u20136 years\u2019 experience in an automation or systems integration environment
\n\tStrong hands-on experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and commissioning
\n\tAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics
\n\tProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel<\/p>\n
Advantageous Experience<\/p>\n
\tDelta PLC programming experience
\n\tExperience with VTScada, Ignition, or FactoryTalk
\n\tKnowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet\/IP
\n\tExposure to project coordination, standards, and technical documentation
\n\tExperience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
