Our client is seeking a skilled and driven Risk Specialist to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have 3\u20137+ years\u2019 experience in risk insurance or financial services, with proven expertise in advising on and servicing life risk products. Applicants should hold a relevant financial qualification, be FAIS compliant, and have (or be able to obtain) product accreditation with major life insurers. Strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships are essential, along with proficiency in CRM systems, strong administrative capability, and fluency in both English and Afrikaans.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
\t3\u20137+ years\u2019 experience in risk insurance or financial services.
\n\tGrade 12 (Matric).
\n\tRelevant financial qualification (e.g., CFP or NQF-aligned qualification).
\n\tFAIS compliant for providing risk advice.
\n\tProduct accreditation with major life insurers (or willingness or ability to obtain).
\n\tProven experience in advising on and servicing life risk products.
\n\tProficient in Microsoft Office.
\n\tComputer literate and technologically savvy.
\n\tExperience working with a CRM system (e.g., XPlan).
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license.
\n\tFluent in verbal and written English and Afrikaans.
\n\tStrong technical knowledge of risk products and structuring.
\n\tExcellent client relationship management and communication skills.
\n\tHigh attention to detail with strong administrative accuracy.
\n\tAbility to work independently and within a team.
\n\tStrong compliance awareness and commitment to ethical standard<\/p>\n
DUTIES:
\nClient Servicing & Relationship Management:<\/p>\n
\tTake ownership of an allocated portfolio of risk clients.
\n\tProvide ongoing policy servicing, including reviews, amendments, and claims support.
\n\tEnsure all clients are serviced in accordance with FAIS requirements.
\n\tAct as the primary point of contact for all risk-related client queries.<\/p>\n
Risk Advice & Policy Structuring:<\/p>\n
\tProvide appropriate risk advice across life, disability, severe illness, and income protection products.
\n\tConduct needs analyses and ensures suitable product recommendations.
\n\tAssist Wealth Advisors and Wealth Specialists with risk planning for their clients.
\n\tIdentify gaps in client cover and recommend appropriate solutions.<\/p>\n
Integration of Merger Business:<\/p>\n
\tAssist with the onboarding and integration of risk books from merger partners.
\n\tReview existing policies to ensure relevance, competitiveness, and compliance.
\n\tEngage with clients from acquired books to establish ongoing relationships.<\/p>\n
Insurer & Stakeholder Engagement:<\/p>\n
\tLiaise with life insurers regarding underwriting, policy servicing, and claims.
\n\tMaintain strong relationships with key product providers.
\n\tEnsure accreditation requirements with relevant insurers are maintained.<\/p>\n
Compliance & Administration:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure all advice and servicing activities comply with FAIS and internal compliance standards.
\n\tMaintain accurate and up-to-date client records on Xplan or relevant CRM systems.
\n\tAssist with audit requirements and provide necessary documentation when required.<\/p>\n
Business Development & Growth:<\/p>\n
\tIdentify opportunities to grow the risk book within the existing client base.
\n\tSupport Wealth Advisors in cross-selling risk solutions.
