The role:<\/p>\n
\tTo manage and control all Survey functions at the operation. Production accounting and the supply of management information. Maintenance of statutory plans and legal compliance.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tAccountable for the operation\u2019s survey activities
\n\tEnsure legal compliance, as per DMRE MHSA Act 29 of 1996, as well as Seriti standards and requirements
\n\tEnsure governance and systems are in place with regards to production accounting
\n\tCarries out responsibilities in terms of HSEC requirements
\n\tContractor Management
\n\tAssist with the design of the mine plan
\n\tVolumetric reconciliations
\n\tWater and rehabilitation measuring with accounting provision
\n\tUpdate and maintenance of statutory plans
\n\tValidating master database and Database management
\n\tCompilation of DTM model
\n\tValidate “control plans”
\n\tPeople Management
\n\tAbility to work with and report in a cross-functional team structure
\n\tTeamwork and collaboration skills for both internal and external stakeholders
\n\tCoaching and training of survey teams to build and maintain a competent and motivated workforce
\n\tPlan, organize, control and lead survey teams
\n\tFinancial Management
\n\tPrepare and plan for Departmental Budgets
\n\tEnsure adherence to Financial Policies and Procedures
\n\tHSE Management: Ensure compliance with MHSA and Seriti requirements with authority to stop and \/ or escalate any unsafe situation
\n\tCustomers: Foster and maintain internal and external customer and stakeholder relations by means of facilitating solutions to resolve disputes<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma \/ National Higher Diploma \/ BTech \/ BSc in Mine Surveying \/ Minerals Surveying (NQF Level 7)
\n\tMine Surveyors Certificate of Competency (MSCoC) \u2013 Government Ticket
\n\tProfessional member registration (SAGC \u2013 South African Geomatics Council and\/or PLATO \u2013 Professional Land and Technical Survey Organisation)
\n\tMember of Institute of Mine Surveyors of Southern Africa (IMSSA)
\n\tMinimum 4 years working experience as Section Surveyor on mining operations
\n\tBroad knowledge of relevant coal mining methods
\n\tTechnical knowledge of relevant legislation
\n\tTechnical knowledge of survey software with proven CAD computer skills and modelling Database management principles
\n\tKnowledge and understanding of surveying principles
\n\tComputer literacy in MS Office & SAP
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license
\n\tIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness<\/p>\n
