\tWe are recruiting for a \u00a0Commis Chef to assist Head Chefs with food preparation, cleaning and basic cooking skills. Works closely with Head chef to promote the company\u2019s culture, mission and philosophy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\tMust be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests.

\n\tAttention to detail
\n\tClient service orientated
\n\tBusiness management principles

\n\tExcellent food\/Chef skills and background<\/p>\n
Qualifications \u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tRelevant tertiary qualification and\/or equivalent in the food industry
\n\tMinimum matric
\n\tMinimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food and overhead costs.
\n\tCheck the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
\n\tCheck the quantity and quality of received products.
\n\tCollaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
\n\tDemonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
\n\tDetermine how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays.
\n\tDetermine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services.
\n\tPlan, direct, and supervise the food preparation and cooking activities of multiple units
\n\tMonitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
\n\tMay be required to assist with any other duties that may be outside scope of responsibility
\n\tHands on involvement with the focus of improving the cooking and overall standards of meals served
\n\tAbility to carry out on the job training with chefs and cooks for the unit
\n\tIntroduction of new trends in the industry that will uplift the standards and reduce cost of sales without affecting quality<\/p>\n
