{"id":36860,"date":"2026-06-01T14:02:26","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T14:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/it-support-technician-johannesburg\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T14:02:56","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T14:02:56","slug":"it-support-technician-johannesburg","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/it-support-technician-johannesburg\/","title":{"rendered":"IT Support Technician- Johannesburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description<\/p>\n<p>\tA vacancy currently exists for the position of IT Support Technician.<\/p>\n<p>Key duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):<\/p>\n<p>\tManage, prioritise, and resolve tickets logged on the IT helpdesk within agreed response times.<br \/>\n\tProvide first- and second-line end-user support across the Microsoft 365 environment, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and the Office desktop suite (account-level support such as mailbox issues, licence assignments, sign-in problems, MFA resets, and shared mailbox\/distribution group changes \u2014 excluding tenant-level or infrastructure administration).<br \/>\n\tDiagnose and resolve end-user software issues across Windows OS, Microsoft 365 applications, ERP, and other business applications.<br \/>\n\tDiagnose and resolve hardware issues on desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices (iOS and Android), mobile scanners, and peripheral network equipment at the user level.<br \/>\n\tProvide end-user support on SAP Business One, escalating application-level issues to the relevant specialists where required.<br \/>\n\tLiaise with software vendors and external service providers to log, follow up on, and drive faults through to resolution on behalf of the business.<br \/>\n\tPerform routine preventative maintenance on PCs, printers, and other end-user equipment.<br \/>\n\tManage printer consumables stock, obtain quotes, and place orders to ensure continuous availability.<br \/>\n\tAdminister user accounts and access at the end-user support level in Active Directory and Microsoft 365\/ Entra ID, including locking and unlocking accounts, password resets, group membership changes, and licence assignment.<br \/>\n\tWork closely with HR to execute the Joiner \/ Mover \/ Leaver (JML) process, ensuring timely onboarding, role changes, and offboarding of users.<br \/>\n\tBe available for after-hours remote support when business needs require it.<br \/>\n\tEscalate issues that fall outside the scope of end-user support, or that cannot be resolved within reasonable timeframes, to the IT Manager<\/p>\n<p>Education, Experience and Key Competencies<\/p>\n<p>\tGrade 12<br \/>\n\tRelevant IT qualification (e.g. A+, N+, MCSE\/MCP, or a recognised IT diploma)<br \/>\n\t2\u20133 years&#8217; experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support role.<br \/>\n\tDemonstrable experience supporting end users in a Microsoft 365 environment.<br \/>\n\tExposure to supporting business applications such as an ERP system (SAP Business One experience is advantageous).<br \/>\n\tSolid working knowledge of Windows 10 \/ 11 and the Microsoft 365 application suite (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel).<br \/>\n\tPractical understanding of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 \/ Entra ID at the user administration level (account management, group membership, licence assignment, password and MFA resets).<br \/>\n\tAbility to diagnose and resolve hardware faults on desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices (iOS and Android), and mobile scanners.<br \/>\n\tBasic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, Wi-Fi, LAN connectivity, printer and device connorietned ectivity) sufficient to troubleshoot end-user issues.<br \/>\n\tMethodical, patient, and detail-approach to troubleshooting.<br \/>\n\tComfortable logging and managing faults with external service providers and software vendors.<br \/>\n\tStrong customer service orientation with clear, professional communication.<br \/>\n\tAble to prioritise and manage multiple tickets without losing track of follow-ups.<br \/>\n\tWilling to be available for after-hours remote support when required.<br \/>\n\tTeam player<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>bcecoza.simplify.hr<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/bcecoza.simplify.hr","_company_name":"BCE Foodservice Equipment","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"BCE Foodservice Equipment (Pty) is a leading supplier of kitchen utensils, industrial cookware and commercial kitchen appliances to the foodservice industry in Africa.
