Purpose of the Role<\/p>\n
\tPerform planned services, repairs and maintenance on Forklifts and components in accordance with supplier standards and customer requirements.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas<\/p>\n
\tUnderstand and implement preventative maintenance
\n\tIdentify and target opportunity for customer work
\n\tFault finding
\n\tAssemble IC and Electric machines in accordance with BHBW and Hyster standards
\n\tFit Telematics black boxes to the machines
\n\tAssist with the loading and unloading of containers
\n\tPartake in new machine stock take as and when required
\n\tComplete the PDI process and sign off new machines
\n\tUnderstanding of supplier warranty systems, policies & procedures
\n\tQuickly and efficiently diagnose machine systems and carry out repairs, services, and maintenance on forklifts on customer sites or at BHBW site
\n\tProvide mentorship to apprentices assigned to you
\n\tMaintain professional image when representing BHBW
\n\tControl own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)
\n\tFollow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
\n\tMaintain a safe working environment (according to safety policy and procedures)
\n\tAdherence to any reasonable instruction<\/p>\n
Qualification, Experience and Competencies<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualification<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or equivalent qualification
\n\tQualified in relevant trade (e.g., Diesel Mechanic)
\n\tDriver\u2019s license \u2013 Code B
\n\tValid forklift license<\/p>\n
Minimum Experience<\/p>\n
\tExperience on working of forklifts and earth moving equipment
\n\t3-4 Years in the same position<\/p>\n
Competencies<\/p>\n
\tSound interpersonal and communication skills
\n\tBasic trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
\n\tMachine specific technical knowledge and skills
\n\tTechnical report writing
\n\tBasic business and financial understanding
\n\tApplicable product knowledge
\n\tCustomer orientation
\n\tAble to work under without supervision
\n\tGood knowledge of Hydraulics
\n\tWillingness to work overtime and standby
\n\tGood auto electrical knowledge would be an advantage
\n\tAbility to work on all types of fork trucks including Big Trucks
\n\tHave a good selection of tools
\n\tTeamwork
\n\tComputer literate and basic understanding of forklift software
\n\tAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines<\/p>\n
