The company employs a diverse workforce with a strong skill set in engineering, we are seeking an experienced Material Handling Assistant who will be responsible to provide support and assistance to the Materials Handling Manager, for the safe and efficient movement, storage, handling, and control of raw materials, components, finished goods, and consumables within the manufacturing or warehouse environment.<\/p>\n
The role supports production continuity, inventory accuracy, housekeeping standards, and safe operational practices and will assist with the following tasks :<\/p>\n
\tLoad, unload, move, and store materials using appropriate handling equipment.
\n\tDeliver materials to production areas according to production schedules and requirements.
\n\tAssist with receiving incoming goods and verifying quantities against delivery documentation.
\n\tTransfer finished goods to designated storage or dispatch areas.
\n\tEnsure correct identification and labelling of materials.
\n\tAssist with stock counts and cycle counts.
\n\tReport stock shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
\n\tMaintain accurate bin locations and material traceability.
\n\tSupport FIFO (First In First Out) stock rotation practices.
\n\tAssist with inventory transactions and documentation where required.
\n\tPrepare materials for production orders or customer dispatch.
\n\tAssist with packing, wrapping, and palletizing goods.
\n\tEnsure workstations and storage areas remain clean and organized.
\n\tSupport continuous improvement initiatives within stores and logistics functions.
\n\tFollow company health and safety procedures at all times.
\n\tOperate material handling equipment safely and responsibly.
\n\tWear required PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
\n\tReport unsafe conditions, incidents, or damaged equipment immediately.
\n\tAdhere to quality procedures and ISO requirements where applicable.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience Required:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 \/ Matric certificate preferred.
\n\tN4 Mechanical Engineering Certification (advantageous)
\n\t3-5 years\u2019 experience in a warehouse, stores and manufacturing environment (non-negotiable).
\n\tExperience with material handling and stock control (non-negotiable).
\n\tMicrosoft Office proficiency
\n\tWorking experience with ERP and MRP software systems
\n\tHigh level of understanding of engineering components
\n\tHigh level of understanding of engineering drawings \u2013 CAD , DXF etc.
\n\tValid forklift license.<\/p>\n
