\tAn exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join a well-established business based in Johannesburg. The role is suited to a proactive and detail-oriented individual who is confident managing a large debtors’ book, reducing credit risk, and building strong client relationships while working closely with finance and legal teams.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tManaging an allocated debtors’ book and ensuring timeous collection of outstanding accounts
\n\tBuilding and maintaining strong customer relationships
\n\tFollowing up on overdue accounts and resolving payment queries
\n\tManaging COD and advance payment customers
\n\tSending statements, invoices, and supporting documentation to customers
\n\tPreparing account reconciliations and resolving account discrepancies
\n\tUpdating internal systems with collection progress and account notes
\n\tAssisting with refund requisitions
\n\tSupporting the credit application and credit vetting process
\n\tWorking closely with finance and legal teams on debt recovery matters
\n\tEnsuring customer documentation, invoices, PODs, and purchase orders meet requirements
\n\tAssisting with reducing overall debtor days and minimising credit risk
\n\tGeneral credit control and finance administration duties<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tMatric and relevant qualification in Credit Management, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field
\n\tMinimum 5\u201310 years’ experience in a credit control role
\n\tStrong understanding of debt collection processes and credit risk management
\n\tExperience managing a sizeable debtors’ book
\n\tKnowledge of South African financial and credit legislation
\n\tStrong Microsoft Office skills
\n\tExcellent communication and relationship-building abilities
\n\tStrong organisational and administrative skills
\n\tAbility to work independently and under pressure
\n\tHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail<\/p>\n
Advantageous<\/p>\n
\tSAP experience
\n\tExperience working closely with legal departments on debt collection matters
\n\tExposure to commercial or industrial environments<\/p>\n
