Our client is seeking a Retail Sales Consultant based in Maitland, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3+ years\u2019 experience in internal sales or customer service, along with at least 3+ years\u2019 retail or shop floor experience in a similar industry. Applicants must hold a Matric (Grade 12), have a clear credit record, and be proficient in MS Office. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, customer-focused individual with a proven track record in retail sales, strong administrative and organisational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a friendly, professional, and well-groomed presentation.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n

DUTIES:
\nKey Duties:<\/p>\n
\tMaintain and grow the retail sales budget by offering customers suitable products through upselling and cross-selling.
\n\tEncourage customers to complete customer information forms to build the company database.
\n\tIncrease cash sales and develop a comprehensive customer database.<\/p>\n
Customer Service:<\/p>\n
\tProactively always assist walk-in customers.
\n\tProfessionally take telephone orders and ensure they are prepared as agreed with the customer.
\n\tMeet, greet, and assist customers in a professional manner.
\n\tOffer customers requested products and suitable alternatives where necessary.
\n\tRecommend complementary products to enhance the customer\u2019s purchase.
\n\tSource alternative products when items are not available in stock.
\n\tDeliver high levels of customer service as measured through supervisor observation, customer feedback, and service evaluation calls by the Sales Manager.<\/p>\n
Housekeeping:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure products are neat, tidy, and correctly placed on shelves, hooks, or in designated containers.
\n\tMaintain cleanliness of all surface areas within the responsible work station.
\n\tUphold a high standard of overall appearance and condition of the work station at all times.
\n\tKeep the work station neat and tidy throughout the day.
\n\tEnsure all products are correctly packed away after assisting customers.
\n\tKeep the sample rail up to date.
\n\tMaintain standards as observed by the Retail Supervisor and Sales Manager.<\/p>\n
Stock Management:<\/p>\n
\tOrder and update stock daily as required.
\n\tConduct stock takes when requested.
\n\tInform the Retail Supervisor of low stock or nil bin cards by recording them in the designated book.
\n\tNotify the Retail Supervisor of items requested by customers that are not held in stock.
\n\tEnsure all stock forms are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.<\/p>\n
Merchandising:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure pricing and product codes are clearly visible at all times.
\n\tUpdate prices and codes on a daily or weekly basis as required.
\n\tArrange and merchandise both existing and new products within the work station.
\n\tConduct quality checks on fabric meterage and condition upon arrival in store.
\n\tMaintain merchandising standards as observed by the Retail Supervisor and Sales Manager.<\/p>\n
Administration:<\/p>\n
\tFollow all company procedures in line with policies and operational requirements.
\n\tAccurately complete order processing, credit notes, refunds, and stock requests.
\n\tEnsure all administrative tasks are accurate, detailed, and completed within deadlines.<\/p>\n
