Job Purpose\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tTo assist SAA Technical line management to comply with Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) legislative requirements through the implementation and maintenance of Safety, Health and Environmental management systems.<\/p>\n
Principal Accountabilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tImplement and maintain SHE management systems (OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001) within area of responsibility which includes risk assessments, compile risk\/impact registers, review of procedures, document control, coaching of staff and management, development of management corrective action plans, emergency planning etc.
\n\tPerform SHE incident investigations as well as incident recall to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions and complete relevant documentation and compile reports to prevent recurrence of similar incidents.
\n\tInvestigate SHE non-conformance\/complaints and recommend corrective action and compile a report.
\n\tConduct planned audits in accordance with an annual schedule for OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 management systems and legal requirements, recommend corrective actions and compile reports.
\n\t\u00a0Attend SHE committee and\/or management meetings and provide expert guidance with regards to SHE legislations and other requirements.
\n\tPerform job observations and\/or walk through inspection and compile reports with corrective action for management.
\n\tMonitor and ensure that contractors compliance to organisation\u2019s SHE management system.
\n\tMonitor key environmental parameters e.g. industrial effluent, air quality, water and ground pollution, resource conservation etc. to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and other requirements.
\n\tConduct occupational hygiene surveys i.e. lightning noise, air monitoring, etc. using specialist measuring instrumentation, interpret results, compile technical reports and recommend corrective action in accordance with hierarchy of control and legislative requirements.\u00a0
\n\tIdentify waste streams, compile waste inventories and monitor the safe disposal of hazardous and toxic waste and maintain records (manifests) of safe disposal.
\n\tCompile statistical and monthly reports.
\n\tCo-ordinate SHE projects e.g. review of waste streams for organisation, conduct baseline air quality survey.
\n\tReview and draft SHE and Quality Manual of Procedure (QMP)
\n\tCompile SHE presentations and present it to line management at management meetings<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or equivalent
\n\tNational Diploma \/ Degree in SHE management (Safety, Environmental Health and Environment) with 3 years\u2019 experience in the safety, health and environmental field.
\n\tValid Code B driver\u2019s license
\n\tMeet the requirements to obtain an ACSA airside permit for domestic airport and restricted areas
\n\tPC Literate (MS Office)<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tGood knowledge of the Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental legislation
\n\tGood interpersonal and report writing skills
\n\tGood presentation skills
\n\tHave analytical skills and good understating of industrial processes e.g. machinery, aircraft maintenance and facilities maintenance
\n\tCommunication skills (verbal and written)<\/p>\n
