\tProvide high\u2011level analysis and interpretation of complex regulatory and legislative frameworks, applying a robust risk\u2011based methodology to guide decision\u2011making.\u00a0
\n\tIdentify, assess, and risk\u2011rate all applicable laws and regulations impacting the assigned business units, ensuring comprehensive regulatory coverage.\u00a0
\n\tOversee the design, development, and implementation of the compliance and legislative universe for responsible business areas.\u00a0
\n\tLead the development, maintenance, and execution of Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs) for critical regulatory and legislative requirements.\u00a0
\n\tDevelop and review monitoring plans that define the compliance monitoring methodology, scope, and frequency aligned to risk priorities.\u00a0
\n\tProduce and present monitoring reports that articulate findings, trends, and recommendations to senior management and governance structures.\u00a0
\n\tOversee incident and regulatory breach reporting processes to ensure timely escalation, remediation, and tracking of compliance risks.\u00a0
\n\tInterpret new and existing regulatory requirements and provide strategic, practical guidance to business units on effective implementation.\u00a0
\n\tAdvise senior leadership on the adequacy and effectiveness of systems, policies, processes, and internal controls designed to ensure regulatory compliance.\u00a0
\n\tConduct research and proactively communicate relevant regulatory developments, trends, and impacts to key stakeholders.\u00a0
\n\tChampion and embed a strong culture of compliance within Sanlam Retail Mass by leading compliance awareness initiatives, projects, and training programmes.\u00a0
\n\tDeliver training and capability\u2011building interventions to distribution channels and business units on core regulatory requirements and obligations.<\/p>\n
Qualification and Experience<\/p>\n
\tLLB or BCom law\u00a0
\n\tCompliance qualification (PG Diploma in Compliance Management) would be advantageous.\u00a0
\n\tMeeting the competence, qualifications and experience requirements to be registered as a Compliance Officer with the Financial Sector
\n\tConduct Authority would be advantageous
\n\tAdmission as an attorney of a High Court (advantageous)
\n\t3-5 years\u2019 experience as a Compliance Officer in the Financial Services Industry<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge of the financial services industry, especially insurance
\n\tA thorough understanding and knowledge of compliance risk management and monitoring programmes
\n\tA thorough understanding and knowledge of the regulatory requirements impacting on the various businesses \u00a0(e.g. FAIS, FICA, LTIA, PPR, POPIA) will be advantageous
