We are looking for a diligent, technically sound and customer orientated individual to join our team as a Field Service Technician.
\n\tThe role will report into the Field Service Manager and the role will be based from our offices in Spartan, Kempton Park.<\/p>\n
Purpose of the role:<\/p>\n
\tResponsible for working closely with the Southern Africa sales & service teams to promote Crushing and Screening products and champion the driving of the Crushing & Screening Solutions equipment and aftermarket parts and support sales whilst providing support and technical assistance & services to our customers for our Crushing & Screening installed base.<\/p>\n
The job responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tCustomer training and efficient technical services support pertaining to all Sandvik Crushing & Screening products supplied to customers within Southern Africa
\n\tWork closely with the Customers or Sandvik Installation and Erection Teams on activities during installation and commissioning of any Sandvik Crushing &
\n\tGuide and assist Customers or Sandvik\u2019 Maintenance Teams with fault diagnosis while working on Screening equipment.
\n\tCooperate closely with the Sales team or directly with the customer to promote Crushing & Screening Solutions equipment and Aftermarket sales.
\n\tProvide relevant feedback through equipment condition, performance and process audits, to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity.
\n\tIdentifies current and future\/potential customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with them and other people in a position to understand service requirements. Provides product service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
\n\tContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
\n\tWorks towards achieving set KPI\u2019s, for both the Customers and Sandvik.
\n\tProviding relevant information to Crushing & Screening Solutions installed base in the Region to the Regional teams and to ensure accurate installed base information is maintained in the database.
\n\tAccept and perform tasks delegated by SRP Management as deemed necessary.
\n\tStay up to date with new and upgrades of Weighing & Screening equipment.
\n\tPrioritize & follow scheduled service\/maintenance plan
\n\tIdentify outstanding work
\n\tVerify resources
\n\tComplete work orders & feedback to Clients
\n\tReport all deviations and\/or damage to Client & Manager
\n\tAddress all complaints & suggestions referring to machine
\n\tVisual inspections with operators
\n\tIdentify development opportunities for operators & In-training Apprentices
\n\tPerform needs analysis
\n\tComplete & administer all time histories
\n\tPrioritize maintenance to be done
\n\tPerform daily services
\n\tIdentify service\/ maintenance to be done from work order
\n\tInspect & test machine
\n\tIdentify faults & follow checklist
\n\tPerform maintenance\/ service as identified and requested
\n\tRe-check machine
\n\tCapture & record shift hour meters if needed
\n\tComplete work order
\n\tUpdate internal business system CRM (Salesforce)
\n\tReport any deviations and\/or damage
\n\tTag & deliver components to stores for repairs
\n\tRecommend spare parts to customers & supply required quotes
\n\tCreate learning opportunities for In-training Apprentices<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience Requirements<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 Certificate
\n\tDiploma in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field or
\n\tN6 – Millwright
\n\tRelevant Red Seal Trade certificate- Millwright
\n\t+5 years’ work experience in Minning or Construction environment<\/p>\n
Other Requirements & Competencies<\/p>\n
\tGood understanding of the importance of customer services & Visits
\n\tBe able to work on the following but not limited to Linear Screens, Feeders, PLCs, weigh feeders, magnetic feeders, Belt Weighers, Bin, Corrolos, Apron Feeders, Upgrades on Weighing equipment, Installations, Calibrations on Weighing equipment, Load Cells, TLOs (advantageous), FAT test,
\n\tFollow through ability, results orientated and ability to function with tight deadlines.
\n\tAbility to work in a matrix organization environment.
\n\tListening and logic interpretation
\n\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
\n\tMust be flexible and self-reliant,
\n\tExcellent time management
\n\tCommercial understanding
\n\tAbility to function independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborate effectively as part of a team.
\n\tHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
\n\tHigh proficiency in MS Office.
\n\tSurface and underground practical work experience in Crushing and Screening (advantageous)
\n\tValid passport, and willing and able to travel to customer sites in Africa
\n\tMine fitness
\n\tAvailable to travel at short notice as per customers\u2019 or Sandvik\u2019s requests\/requirements.
\n\tBe prepared to work Standbys.
\n\tThere might be a need to assist other territories within Africa for extended periods
\n\tRequired to support technicians, other team members and customers after hours.
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license with no endorsements<\/p>\n
