A vacancy exists for a Pharmacist based at Life Springs Parkland Hospital, reporting to Constance Chihururu, Senior Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.<\/p>\n

\nEffective medication safety management<\/p>\n
\tReport 100% of medication incidents and develop and implement remedial actions as appropriate.
\n\tReport 100% of pharmacy alerts and develop and implement remedial action and complete a trends analysis quarterly.<\/p>\n
Effective quality management systems<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in the implementation and compliance to LHC Quality management systems.
\n\tEnsure compliance with SAPC, DOH and LHC legal and professional standards.
\n\tParticipate in achieving required customer service levels in theatre and wards.
\n\tImplement customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiatives.<\/p>\n
Effective financial management<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in achieving hospital budgeted financial measures relating to pharmacy.<\/p>\n
Effective product management<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in the active management of cost of sales of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget.
\n\tBuild effective working relationships with doctors.<\/p>\n
Effective asset management<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in achieving stock targets.
\n\tAchieve optimal system utilisation.<\/p>\n
Effective people management<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in Pharmacist Intern and Pharmacist Assistant programmes as appropriate.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tPharm \/ Dip.Pharm \/ B.Sc Pharm
\n\tRelevant clinical knowledge and experience to the critical outputs
\n\tCurrent registration with South African Pharmacy Council
\n\tUnderstanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, regulation and challenges
\n\tKnowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
