Purpose of the Role<\/p>\n
\tTo establish and lead a formal GNFR function that delivers end-to-end governance, sourcing, contracting, and value creation across all non-trade spend categories. The role is responsible for driving cost reduction, supplier performance, compliance, and standardised procurement processes while building a pipeline of high-impact commercial initiatives across the business.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tCA(SA), CIMA, BCom or equivalent tertiary qualification
\n\tMinimum 7 years\u2019 experience within an FMCG environment
\n\tProven experience in indirect spend transformation, including utilities, facilities, services, and Capex
\n\tStrong commercial, negotiation, and contracting capability
\n\tExperience implementing procurement processes, systems, and compliance controls
\n\tStrong governance and risk management mindset
\n\tProven leadership experience managing cross-functional projects and teams
\n\tAdvanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
\n\tSAP experience advantageous
\n\tExcellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
\n\tHigh attention to detail and strong organisational skills<\/p>\n

Strategic Leadership & Governance<\/p>\n
\tDefine and implement the GNFR vision, operating model, and value roadmap
\n\tEstablish procurement policies, governance frameworks, sourcing controls, and supplier standards
\n\tDrive PO compliance and reduce off-contract spend
\n\tLead GNFR steering committees and track strategic initiatives<\/p>\n
Procurement Operations & Process Optimisation<\/p>\n
\tDesign and implement end-to-end procurement workflows and controls
\n\tImprove procurement systems, supplier master governance, spend analytics, and contract repositories
\n\tDevelop standardised procurement processes across stores, DCs, Finance, Property, and Operations<\/p>\n
Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Value Creation<\/p>\n
\tLead sourcing events, negotiations, and commercial initiatives across key categories
\n\tDevelop category strategies focused on total cost of ownership and long-term value creation
\n\tBuild and present business cases, savings initiatives, and cost optimisation strategies
\n\tDrive continuous improvement and measurable savings delivery<\/p>\n
Supplier & Contract Management<\/p>\n
\tEstablish supplier segmentation and performance management frameworks
\n\tManage supplier SLAs, KPIs, compliance, and service reviews
\n\tStrengthen contracting disciplines, including risk clauses, warranties, rebates, and maintenance obligations
\n\tEnsure supplier onboarding and compliance with regulatory and company requirements<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership<\/p>\n
\tPartner closely with Operations, Property, IT, Finance, DCs, and Support Office teams
\n\tDrive adoption of preferred suppliers, catalogue buying, and procurement compliance
\n\tBuild procurement capability through training, playbooks, and process standardisation<\/p>\n
Team Leadership & Capability Building<\/p>\n
\tRecruit, develop, and lead a high-performing GNFR team
\n\tFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and measurable performance
\n\tMentor and develop procurement capability within the broader business<\/p>\n
