To supervise and coordinate all pump installation, pump relocation, piping construction, and related civil and mechanical activities across mining sites. The incumbent will ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with mining regulations, engineering standards, and company procedures.<\/p>\n
Pump Installation & Relocation<\/p>\n
\tSupervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of dewatering, slurry, process, and water transfer pumps.
\n\tCoordinate pump relocations as mining operations progress.
\n\tEnsure pumps are installed according to engineering specifications and manufacturer requirements.
\n\tMonitor pump performance and identify operational issues.<\/p>\n
Piping Construction<\/p>\n
\tSupervise construction, installation, modification, and maintenance of HDPE, steel, PVC, and other piping systems.
\n\tOversee pipe laying, welding, fabrication, flanging, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
\n\tEnsure piping routes are installed according to approved drawings and mine requirements.
\n\tCoordinate tie-ins and shutdown activities.Site Supervision<\/p>\n
Site Supervision<\/p>\n
\tManage daily site activities across multiple mining locations.
\n\tAllocate resources, equipment, tools, and labour effectively.
\n\tLead and supervise construction teams, artisans, operators, contractors, and general workers.
\n\tConduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
\n\tMonitor productivity and project progress.<\/p>\n
Health, Safety & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and site-specific safety procedures.
\n\tConduct risk assessments and enforce safe work practices.
\n\tInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
\n\tEnsure all permits, inspections, and documentation are completed.<\/p>\n
Planning & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tReview project plans, drawings, and schedules.
\n\tTrack project milestones and report progress to management.
\n\tPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly site reports.
\n\tManage material requirements and equipment availability.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n
\tLiaise with mine management, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
\n\tAttend project meetings and provide technical input.
\n\tMaintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements
\nQualifications<\/p>\n
\tTrade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Pipe Fitting, Boilermaking, or related field preferred.
\n\tConstruction Management qualification advantageous.
\n\tValid driver’s licence.
\n\tMine Health and Safety training certificates advantageous.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 4 years experience in mining construction environments.
\n\tProven experience installing, relocating, and managing mining pump systems.
\n\tExtensive experience in piping construction projects.
\n\tExperience supervising multidisciplinary teams on active mining operations.
\n\tExperience working on dewatering, water reticulation, slurry, or process water systems.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills<\/p>\n
\tKnowledge of pumps, pipelines, valves, fittings, and associated infrastructure.
\n\tAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and layouts.
\n\tUnderstanding of pressure testing and commissioning processes.
\n\tFamiliarity with mining construction standards and safety regulations.<\/p>\n
