\tAllan Gray is looking for an Events Manager to join our team in Cape Town, reporting to the Senior Events Manager.
\n\tIn this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of events at Allan Gray, working collaboratively with the events team to deliver exceptional experiences. You will engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, acting as a central point of coordination to ensure seamless communication, alignment, and successful event delivery.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities
\nProcess & systems management<\/p>\n
\tEnsuring event\/webinar standards and requirements are met and consistently applied throughout the business
\n\tEnsuring detailed process notes are captured for all events\/webinars and consistently applied across all areas of the business
\n\tContinuous development, documenting and streamlining of event\/webinar processes<\/p>\n
Quality check Events team & client communications<\/p>\n
\tManage events budget\u00a0
\n\tManage Allan Gray events calendar as well as the industry events calendar<\/p>\n
Event planning, co-ordination & delivery<\/p>\n
\tResponsible for setting and delivering on a high standard of excellence across all events over which the team has oversight
\n\tResponsible for planning, coordination and delivery of allocated events from start to finish\u00a0
\n\tAttendance of events and co-ordination at the dry run and on the day
\n\tPost event record-keeping, feedback and analysis
\n\tEnsuring that event costs are within budget and proactively communicate with stakeholders throughout<\/p>\n
Team management<\/p>\n
\tManage people capacity. Ensure people have a clear and coherent understanding of the job, competencies required and outputs
\n\tCompetency and performance management: Ensure employees deliver on agreed competency requirements
\n\tMorale and culture: People are aligned to the Allan Gray values and culture. Morale positive and productive
\n\tRecruitment, selection and induction: Ensure right people are in place.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Stakeholder management<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure events are in line with the high brand standards
\n\tEnsure all stakeholders understand the strategic intent of the event and pro-actively communicate with event owners regarding potential negative or positive impacts on their events strategy<\/p>\n

Skills, Competencies and Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 10 years\u2019 relevant event management experience within a corporate financial services environment
\n\tProven experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
\n\tStrong project management, operational planning, and multitasking capabilities
\n\tExceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
\n\tHighly organised, proactive, and solutions-driven
\n\tStrong leadership capability with a collaborative and accountable management style, underpinned by high emotional intelligence, sound judgement, and professionalism
\n\tPassionate about delivering exceptional internal and external client experiences
\n\tAdaptable, with the ability to effectively manage changing operational and business requirements
\n\tWillingness to work irregular hours when operationally required
\n\tMeticulous attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and execution standards, aligned to a culture of excellence<\/p>\n
Education<\/p>\n
\tRelevant Degree or diploma
\n\tAdvanced computer literacy, with demonstrated proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook<\/p>\n
