\tHello Group is seeking to appoint a dedicated Operations Manager who plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the organisation\u2019s core business operations across multiple regions. This role is responsible for managing daily operations, driving process efficiency, overseeing compliance and risk management, and supporting strategic execution. The Operations Manager will work closely with internal departments, regional teams, service providers, and senior leadership to optimise workflows, align operational goals with business objectives, and ensure consistent service delivery.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nFinancial Oversight & Cost Management<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with the Finance team to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
\n\tMonitor operational expenditure and ensure cost discipline within teams.
\n\tAnalyse financial and operational data to guide resource allocation decisions.
\n\tEnsure financial controls are implemented and adhered to across operational activities.
\n\tContribute to monthly reporting by providing variance analysis and operational context to financial performance.<\/p>\n
Operational Oversight & Coordination<\/p>\n
\tLead and manage daily operational functions across departments and regions (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi).
\n\tDevelop and maintain operational frameworks, standard operating procedures, and service level agreements.
\n\tMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure service efficiency and operational effectiveness.
\n\tEnsure alignment between internal teams (e.g. finance, compliance, tech) for seamless execution.
\n\tManage vendor relationships and oversee contract adherence and performance.<\/p>\n
Process Optimisation & Efficiency<\/p>\n
\tIdentify, analyse, and resolve inefficiencies in business processes.
\n\tImplement systems and tools that enhance productivity and service delivery.
\n\tLead cross-functional projects to streamline workflows and reduce costs.
\n\tPromote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
\n\tEnsure business continuity through robust planning and execution strategies.<\/p>\n
Risk Management & Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure operational compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regional regulations.
\n\tPartner with Compliance, Legal, and Finance teams to manage risk exposure.
\n\tMaintain operational controls that prevent fraud, service disruptions, and data breaches.
\n\tStay informed of regulatory and operational changes affecting the business in each region.
\n\tSupport internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.<\/p>\n
Strategic Execution & Business Support<\/p>\n
\tTranslate strategic objectives into operational plans and execution roadmaps.
\n\tProvide operational insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
\n\tSupport expansion efforts, product launches, or market entries from an operational standpoint.
\n\tConduct scenario planning and assess operational readiness for new initiatives.
\n\tCollaborate with leadership to develop and monitor operational budgets.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership & Performance Management<\/p>\n
\tLead, coach, and support operational staff across business units and regions.
\n\tFoster a high-performance culture with clear accountability and continuous feedback.
\n\tMonitor team output, capacity, and resource utilisation.
\n\tDevelop training and succession plans to build operational bench strength.
\n\tPromote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practices.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
\n\tMinimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in an operations, general management, or process improvement role.
\n\tExperience managing cross-functional teams and multi-country operations strongly preferred.<\/p>\n
