\tMeridian Wine Distribution is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SHE Officer to support the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems within a designated region. The ideal candidate will assist with inspections, compliance monitoring, training, incident investigations, and day-to-day SHE activities.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tConduct workplace inspections according to company standards.
\n\tAssist with toolbox talks, inductions, and SHE awareness activities.
\n\tMonitor workplace compliance and report non-conformances.
\n\tEnsure SHE documentation is maintained and updated.
\n\tAssist with incident and accident investigations.
\n\tRecord incidents and track corrective actions.
\n\tIdentify workplace hazards and support preventative measures.
\n\tEnsure Health & Safety certificates and equipment certifications remain up to date.
\n\tSupport compliance with legal and company SHE requirements.
\n\tMonitor occupational health hazards within the region.
\n\tCommunicate SHE matters to employees and supervisors.
\n\tSupport stakeholder engagement and departmental coordination.
\n\tEscalate concerns and risks to the National SHE Officer.
\n\tConduct employee inductions and basic SHE training.
\n\tAssist with emergency preparedness activities.
\n\tSupport implementation of SHE procedures and systems.
\n\tEnsure continuous development and up-to-date industry knowledge and competence.
\n\tPromote teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
\n\tAssist in maintaining a positive and safe working environment.<\/p>\n
Qualification and Experience<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
\n\tSAMTRAC or equivalent SHEQ qualification advantageous.
\n\tMinimum 2\u20134 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role.
\n\tKnowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
\n\tComputer literacy and reporting skills.
\n\tValid driver’s licence.
\n\tWillingness to travel within the assigned region.<\/p>\n
