Primary Purpose of the Job:<\/p>\n
\tThe Reporting Accountant is responsible for the preparation, analysis and presentation of monthly management reporting, performance analysis and insight for the Operational Finance team.
\n\tThe role focuses on transforming financial and operational data into accurate, timely and decision useful information, supporting management through structured analysis, dashboards, AI agents and ad hoc projects. The incumbent will play a key role in enhancing Excel based, BI reporting capability and AI transformation within Operational Finance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas (KPA\u2019s):<\/p>\n
\u00a0Monthly Reporting & Analysis<\/p>\n
\tPrepare monthly management reports in line with group reporting timelines.
\n\tPerform variance analysis against prior periods, budgets and forecasts with clear commentary.
\n\tAnalyse trends, drivers and anomalies in financial and operational data.
\n\tSupport Finance Managers with explanatory analysis for management, EXCO and board reporting.
\n\tEnsure reporting is accurate, complete, consistent and well\u2011structured.<\/p>\n
Excel\u2011Based Reporting & Data Modelling<\/p>\n
\tBuild and maintain advanced Excel reporting models, including:
\n\tSQL
\n\tPivot tables and pivot charts
\n\tStructured data models
\n\tLookups, formulas and logical calculations
\n\tAutomate or introduce AI agents to run recurring reports where possible to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
\n\tMaintain reconciliation between source data and reported outputs.<\/p>\n
BI Dashboards & Visual Reporting<\/p>\n
\tDesign, build and maintain BI dashboards (e.g. Power BI or similar) or AI agents to support operational and financial reporting.
\n\tTranslate business and finance requirements into clear, user\u2011friendly visual outputs.
\n\tEnsure dashboards align to agreed data definitions, controls and governance.
\n\tContinuously improve dashboards based on stakeholder feedback.<\/p>\n
Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects<\/p>\n
\tSupport ad hoc analysis requested by management, including:
\n\tPerformance deep dives
\n\tScenario and sensitivity analysis
\n\tBusiness cases and initiatives
\n\tParticipate in reporting, process improvement and automation projects within Operational Finance.
\n\tAssist in improving reporting frameworks, templates and standardisation across the team.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with Finance Managers, portfolio accountants, tax and treasury teams to ensure alignment of data and reporting.
\n\tLiaise with non\u2011finance stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into meaningful outputs.
\n\tDeliver insights in a clear, structured and professional manner.<\/p>\n
