Purpose of the role:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure the effective and efficient management of drivers and delivery operations.
\n\tOversee all aspects of daily branch activities, including staff, vehicles, and system coordination.
\n\tMaintain timely, accurate, and effective reporting for fleet, last-mile delivery, and driver performance.
\n\tEnsure operational compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations.
\n\tDrive productivity by optimizing resources, task allocation, and staff deployment.
\n\tSafeguard company assets, stock, and ensure accurate returns handling and documentation.
\n\tLead and develop the team while enforcing discipline and performance standards.
\n\tPromote a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the branch.<\/p>\n
This position reports to the\u00a0 Hub Manager<\/p>\n
Your responsibilities can include:<\/p>\n
\tIt\u2019s primary objectives therefore centres on timelines, efficiency and effectiveness of Drivers
\n\tManaging the drivers and various systems so as to optimize delivery and reporting
\n\tEnsuring that all reporting relating to various vehicles, last Mile and driving staff is done promptly, accurately and effectively.
\n\tEnsuring that the relevant chain of command is updated as soon as possible with any and all relevant information pertaining to the loading and delivery of parcels as well as any system issues encountered.
\n\tEnsuring that adequate staff are present and on duty for the daily tasks.
\n\tEnsuring that staff are efficiently tasked and effectively deployed.
\n\tEnsuring that all operational imperatives are being upheld and that any current or potential blockers are raised quickly and effectively to the correct people.
\n\tEnsuring returned goods are collected from Customers and returned to the Returns Department with the correct paperwork.
\n\tEnsuring that all queries relating to drivers and deliveries are quickly and effectively resolved.
\n\tEnsure that all Drivers sent onto the road have valid Drivers\u2019 Licences and PDP\u2019s
\n\tEnsure that admin staff have access to all relevant data and detail regarding deliveries, staff clocking times, leave etc.
\n\tEnsuring that any changes to deliveries that need to be affected by customers are done as soon as possible, as efficiently as possible with the relevant parties being informed along the way. The system needs to be updated appropriately as well
\n\tEnsure that all driving staff are compliant with all relevant safety and security standards and procedures; as prescribed by the company, as well as all other measures detailed in the Driver\u2019s job description and any other ancillary communication as given from time to time.
\n\tEnsure that all drivers and assistants are correctly dressed in all PPE issued.
\n\tEnsure that proper staff leave planning and submissions are done; in line with operational necessities and any other parameters as prescribed by the company.
\n\tEnsure that all vehicles, hardware and\/or equipment is maintained and looked after and is in good working order. Any deficiencies, need to be reported and investigated immediately.
\n\tEnsure that all due diligence is done in order to ensure the safety of all parcels and equipment within the warehouse area; on the road.
\n\tEnsure that all loss of company assets and stock is minimized and that all missing items are afforded the appropriate diligence, in terms of tracing and finding.
\n\tEnsure that reports as requested by management are submitted timeously
\n\tEnsure the Various systems are in line with the daily deliveries e.g. Branch Dashboard & Driver Dashboard.
\n\tDevelop and implement effective and efficient work processes and procedures complying with SOP.
\n\tSupervise, coach and develop team
\n\tImplement discipline management and performance management of staff up to the first written warning stage, when necessary
\n\tDriving and promoting the company culture from within, over and above the rules and standards set out in various documents; thus, ensuring a workforce that is committed to excellence and success.
\n\tAny other duties as and when required by the Hub Manager and\/or Distribution and Fleet Controller that are reasonably within the capabilities of the person and are aimed at achieving objectives and goals of the company
\n\tTimely and accurate delivery of parcels to customers.
\n\tAccurate and up-to-date reporting on vehicle usage delivery status, driver performance, and system alignment.
\n\tWell-coordinated daily operations, including driver schedules, staff deployment, and resource allocation.
\n\tCompliance with safety, security, and company operational standards.
\n\tProper documentation and return of goods from customers to the returns department.
\n\tEffective resolution of all driver- and delivery-related queries.
\n\tFully trained, properly dressed, and legally compliant (licenses, PDPs) drivers and assistants.
\n\tClean, well-maintained vehicles and equipment with minimal downtime or loss.
\n\tAccurate and timely submission of management reports and dashboards.
\n\tHigh performing, disciplined, and motivated branch team aligned to company values and goals.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and experience:<\/p>\n
\tMatric
\n\tValid Driver\u2019s License \u2013 required
\n\tValid Public Driver\u2019s Permit (PDP) \u2013 required
\n\t3\u20135 years of experience in Fleet Control or a similar supervisory role within logistics, distribution, or supply chain operations.<\/p>\n
