\tWe\u2019re on the lookout for an experienced\u00a0Transport Manager\u00a0to effectively manage and control the transport and loading\u00a0 fleet in order to ensure the rateable supply of timber to various regional markets<\/p>\n
As a Transport Manager, you will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
\tPlan daily weekly and monthly transport and loading requirements according to sales plan
\n\tAssess daily haulage\/delivery performance against planned schedule
\n\tEnsure that vehicles are dispatched by monitoring actual deliveries against daily plan
\n\tAssess availability and uptime of trucks
\n\tAssess depot stocks to ensure stock rotation is accounted for when planning operations
\n\tConduct regular route and depot inspections to ensure all required standards are adhered to
\n\tPlan future route and depot requirements with the Forester and Roads Engineer as per Harvesting APO
\n\tPromote safety amongst transport and Contractors according to Sappi\u2019s safety standards
\n\tLiaise with DOT\/RTMS regarding route conditions and special permits
\n\tMonitors the efficient running of the approved contracts\/agreements
\n\tEnsure that fleet optimisation is based on route leads, depot stocks and mill requirement
\n\tCompile reports as required by the business<\/p>\n
What are we looking for?<\/p>\n
\tNational Diploma in Logistic\/Transport and\/or a Forestry related qualification
\n\tBachelor\u2019s degree would be advantageous
\n\tUp to 5 years relevant experience
\n\tValid EB (Code 8) driver\u2019s License<\/p>\n
