The Appointee should:<\/p>\n
\tBe in possession of a valid NQF 4 National Senior Certificate or Equivalent
\n\tBe in possession of a valid Blasting Certificate
\n\tBe in possession of a valid Mine Overseer Certificate
\n\tMust have at least 5 year experience as a Producation Supervisor (Graduates minimum 2 years)
\n\tBe Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
\n\tHave clear security screening record.
\n\tHave a valid driver\u2019s license (if applicable).<\/p>\n

\tNQF 6 Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Mining Engineering or NQF 7 Degree in Mining Engineering<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tMining Risk Management \u00a0Contribute to the management of risk within own field of expertise. \u00a0Assess Mining risks and incorporate mitigating controls. \u00a0Maintain and update the Mining component of the risk register. Mining Management \u00a0Manage the Mining Section teams, systems and processes. \u00a0Analyse, interpret Mining data, reports, and take corrective actions as required. \u00a0Provide effective problem solving support to the Mining teams. \u00a0Participate in the daily Mining meeting \u00a0Plan and manage Mining resources (personnel, equipment and materials) as required \u00a0Maintain and update the Shaft schedule \u00a0Design and plan underground layouts
\n\tStart of Day Preparation \u00a0Check Shift Communication Log book for any problems reported and special instructions that need to be addressed. \u00a0Determine material allocations based on the BOM. \u00a0Verify materials, consumables and explosives orders. \u00a0Monitor Seismic Activity Report and communicate to the Mining teams. \u00a0Verify that the Gas Testing procedure has been complied with. \u00a0Verify statutory and daily examinations records.
\n\tGround Control & Strata Control Support \u00a0Assess poor quality support installations and take corrective actions. Secondary Support \u00a0Manage the installation of secondary supports, assess poor quality support installations and take corrective actions. Tramming \u00a0Manage the Tramming team and activities and plan Tramming activities and targets. Secondary Blasting \u00a0Manage Secondary Blasting team and processes. Maintenance \u00a0Manage underground maintenance activities. Blasting \u00a0Initiate blasts and authorise re-entry to blasted section after observing the prescribed re-entry period. Removal of Brocken Rock (Cleaning & Sweeping) \u00a0Plan the location of winches.
\n\tUnderground Operations Projects \u00a0Identify Underground Operations improvement opportunities. \u00a0Implement Underground Operations improvement projects and initiatives. \u00a0Supervise a project team of an Underground Operations project to deliver project objectives. \u00a0Contribute to the management of project risk within own field of expertise. \u00a0Develop a simple schedule to facilitate effective project execution. \u00a0Monitor, evaluate and communicate simple project schedules.<\/p>\n
