Purpose of Role:<\/p>\n
\tSPARK Schools Assistant Teachers are developing educators who co-plan and co-teach lessons under the guidance of a mentor teacher. They support scholar achievement by contributing to a positive classroom environment and practising instructional delivery, while building content knowledge and pedagogical skills aligned to SPARK\u2019s academic and cultural model.<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nResponsibilities:
\nInstruction & Curriculum Delivery\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCo-plan and co-teach both in-person and distance learning lessons.\u00a0
\n\tLead and facilitate intervention and acceleration sessions\u00a0
\n\tPlan and teach select lessons for practice and feedback.\u00a0
\n\tSupport assessments and grade small tasks or homework.\u00a0
\n\tFacilitate academic, clubs, and enrichment lessons aligned to the curriculum and SPARK\u2019s pedagogical standards.\u00a0
\n\tParticipate in place-based education and implement SPARK Schools curriculum enrichment activities.\u00a0
\n\tTeaching through Project Based Learning\u00a0
\n\tPersonalising teaching through data driven decisions\u00a0
\n\tDifferentiated instruction driven by technology\u00a0
\n\tFacilitate coding and robotics lessons\u00a0<\/p>\n
Collaboration & Planning\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAssist with marking and data tracking of subjects’ assessments and exams.\u00a0
\n\tParticipate in professional development, mentorship, check-ins and feedback sessions and ongoing instructional coaching.\u00a0
\n\tTeacher admin assistance and support\u00a0<\/p>\n
Scholar Progress Monitoring\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tTrack scholar’s academic performance and ensure Personalised Learning Plans are on track
\n\tSubmit and analyse scholar data to monitor growth and implement data-driven interventions under the supervision of the mentor teacher\u00a0
\n\tMonitor scholar progress in the Innovation HUB (online program engagement)\u00a0
\n\tActively assist students on all computer programs and ensure that the educational software used in the lab effectively meets the needs of students.\u00a0
\n\tCommunicate and collaborate with teachers and school administrators to create personalised learning plans for students.\u00a0
\n\tReport all damages to hardware to the and fill out relevant incident reports if needed.\u00a0
\n\tHold individualised intervention sessions for scholars who need extra support in subjects
\n\tAchievement enrichment school program\u00a0
\n\tFacilitate in supervising scholars during the after school program, ensuring play, and structured activities.\u00a0
\n\tEnsure all after school program resources are used responsibly and effectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Character Development & Culture Building\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tEngage with CQ (Character Quotient) sessions and uphold CQ standards.\u00a0
\n\tUphold and promote SPARK\u2019s behaviour management strategies and cultural values.
\n\tPromote an inclusive school environment that drive diversity, equity and inclusion
\n\tPartake in school events and activities that promote CQ and SPARK culture\u00a0<\/p>\n
Professionalism & Stakeholder Engagement\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCommunicate effectively with colleagues, families, and stakeholders.\u00a0
\n\tMaintain professionalism at all SPARK Schools events and engagements.\u00a0
\n\tAttend Saturday school events, parent meetings, and other required activities.\u00a0
\n\tPromote and model SPARK Schools\u2019 vision, mission, and values.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Compliance & safety<\/p>\n
\tAdhere to policies related to crisis management, child protection, anti-bullying, and health and safety.\u00a0
\n\tImplement directives from the Crisis Management Team.\u00a0
\n\tParticipate fully in operational processes and procedures\u00a0
\n\tProvide support during transitions, lunch, break, and other non-instructional times
\n\tProvide administrative support for both instructional and operational aspects.\u00a0
\n\tSubmit scholar data and records as required.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tEnglish language fluency.
\n\tPolice clearance certificate.
\n\tGrade 12 Certificate.
\n\tStudying part\u00ad-time towards a B.Ed. or PGCE in the Intermediate or Senior Phase (3rd or 4th Year), with a view to becoming a qualified teacher.
\n\tProvisional SACE registration<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tPrevious experience managing or working with primary school-aged children.
\n\tBasic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology.<\/p>\n
