Summary<\/p>\n
\tThe Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Improved Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance to professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating Training, Development and Mentoring of staff in the Unit. The incumbent will also be expected to apply and manage the best and most effective operational practice by focusing on the integration of people, technology and finance drivers in ensuring that Unit costs are maintained within budget<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tRegistration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
\n\tA relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing\/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualifications
\n\tRelevant qualification and experience within Maternity, NNICU and Paeds Units
\n\tPost basic qualifications in Management will be advantageous
\n\tManage Acuities and Skill Mix in such a way as to ensure cost effective Quality Care
\n\tManage all costs emanating from the Department
\n\tEnsure correct Billing, Stock Management and Ordering
\n\tEnsure patient confidentiality
\n\tPromote health and well-being of patients and staff
\n\tFacilitate timeous and accurate Compilation of Files
\n\tEnsure the unit is providing safe, cost-effective quality patient care in line with the
\n\tClinical Governance strategy and evidence-based practice
\n\tEvaluate Nursing Quality Indicators and Clinical Outcomes
\n\tEvaluate the patient\u2019s journey through patient experience and stakeholder input
\n\tEnsure the principles of Infection Prevention and all standard precautions are adhered to
\n\tCommunicate effectively with patients, families and parents regarding the patient\u2019s care<\/p>\n
Work Experience<\/p>\n
\t+5 years working experience in private healthcare or healthcare industry will be advantageous
\n\tExperience in Management and Clinical Leadership<\/p>\n
Knowledge<\/p>\n
\tComputer Literacy essential
\n\tNursing standards
\n\tSound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data
\n\tImplementing group Quality Initiatives
\n\tCapacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
