The role:<\/p>\n
\tResponsible for ensuring that the coal mined is in accordance with agreed standards.\u00a0 Conducts regular mining visits to ensure that the coal available and delivered to stockpiles and plants is in accordance with agreed blocks and qualities.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:<\/p>\n
\tAudit and ensure that the coal coming from the mines to the plants is in accordance with agreed daily, weekly, and monthly plans
\n\tLiaise with mining to jointly make decisions on what to do when coal quality deviates from expected or agreed qualities
\n\tTrack, manage and report on the quality of coal in all ex-pit coal and product stockpiles through sampling and tracking in-flows and out-flows from the stockpiles
\n\tCoordinate with mining and Business Planning to ensure that the geological model is updated with timely and accurate information
\n\tCoordinate with a wide range of key stakeholders in the plants, mines, and Business Planning, to achieve coal quality compliance and tracking objectives
\n\tEnsures adherence to policies, standards and procedures in all areas of operations
\n\tDetermination and communication of potential risks and measures to limit those risks at the lowest cost
\n\tInvestigates non-conformance to mining activities, identifies areas for improvement and implement solutions
\n\tCarries out responsibilities in terms of HSEC requirements
\n\tResponsible for compliance in respect to Company policies and procedures
\n\tCoaches and provides technical assistance to contractor personnel
\n\tEnsures adherence to own Personal Development Plans and Performance contract<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tDiploma or Junior Degree in Geology
\n\tSite specific programmes
\n\tMinimum 2 years\u2019 experience in the production environment
\n\tComputer literacy: MS Office
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license
\n\tIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tRegistration with relevant professional body (SACNASP, GSSA)
\n\tKnowledge of legislative requirements applicable to the role
\n\tKnowledge of geological software
\n\tKnowledge of mine business planning<\/p>\n
