Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBTech\/ B Eng\/ BSc or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
\n\tElectrical Engineer’s Certificate of Competency
\n\tCode EB driver’s license
\n\tECSA registered (Pr Eng. \/ Pr Tech Eng. \/ Pr Cert Eng.)
\n\t8 years’ experience in the operation, maintenance and refurbishment of municipal electrical distribution networks or a similar environment<\/p>\n
Core Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tResponsible for various sections to ensure sustainable new electrical infrastructure is created and the existing electrical infrastructure is maintained and refurbished.
\n\tApply well developed technical operation and maintenance skills together with critical thinking to contribute to building strategic capability of the Department
\n\tManage the distribution business unit to ensure optimum service delivery by minimising losses to Council ‘s electrical networks and inconvenience to customers
\n\tManage the business unit’s assets to ensure optimum utilization of personnel, equipment, transport and resources available
\n\tManage the business unit’s personnel to ensure optimal utilization of personnel and create an acceptable work ethic and environment
\n\tExecute administrative functions to ensure proper documentation and record keeping
\n\tManage the business unit’s capital, maintenance and refurbishment budgets to ensure that requirements for the business unit are budgeted for and that the capital, operational and refurbishment budgets are utilised efficiently and effectively
\n\tEnsure compliance with legislation and organisational policies to ensure a high standard of work is delivered and relevant legislative conditions are adhered to
\n\tManage customer education and customer service initiatives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through the provision of effective service deliver<\/p>\n
