\tThe Fleet Manager ensures the safe, compliant, and cost-effective operation of the transport fleet by overseeing maintenance, controlling fleet costs, ensuring full legislative compliance, and driving data-based performance improvements. The role maximises fleet uptime, manages CAPEX for transport assets, and supports operational efficiency through accurate reporting, supplier management, and strict health and safety standards.<\/p>\n

Fleet Maintenance Management<\/p>\n
\tMaintenance Oversight: Effectively manage in-house, outsourced, and subcontracted maintenance functions to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
\n\tMaintenance Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive vehicle maintenance plan, ensuring service schedules are adhered to.
\n\tCost and Quality Monitoring: Monitor repairs for cost-effectiveness and quality, ensuring all maintenance activities meet company standards.<\/p>\n
Fleet Cost Control and Budget Management<\/p>\n
\tBudget Adherence: Control transport costs to stay within budget, optimizing resource allocation.
\n\tCAPEX Management: Manage CAPEX allocation and budgeting, including the procurement of transport assets to support operational needs.
\n\tExpense Monitoring: Monitor and report costs for all major cost categories, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.<\/p>\n
Transportation Compliance and Legislation Adherence<\/p>\n
\tLegislative Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation, including RTQS and AARTO requirements, maintaining operational legality.
\n\tStay Informed: Stay updated with legislative changes and communicate them appropriately to the business, ensuring continuous compliance.
\n\tSafety Standards: Direct the safety program for the region, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proactive safety measures.<\/p>\n
Data Management and Reporting<\/p>\n
\tInformation Management: Provide and maintain management information with the analyst, generating KPI reports, and distributing them daily, weekly, and monthly.
\n\tData Analysis: Analyze KPI reports to identify trends and action them to improve fleet performance.
\n\tAccurate Reporting: Ensure all costs and performance data are accurately reported and updated in a timely manner.<\/p>\n
Skills, Experience & Education\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nEducation<\/p>\n
\tBCom (Majoring in Transport Economics) or equivalent.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tA Tradesman Qualification would be an added advantage (e.g. Diesel Mechanic)
\n\t5 years\u2019 experience in the bulk transport industry
\n\t3 years experience in line management<\/p>\n
Skills\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tPossess a deep understanding of the transport industry and relevant legislation to ensure compliance and effective operations.
\n\tDemonstrate meticulous attention to detail in managing fleet maintenance, reporting, and compliance activities.
\n\tMaintain a strong customer focus, ensuring that fleet operations meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.\u00a0
