Responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
\tConduct innovative, high-impact biomedical and public health research\u00a0
\n\tPlan, coordinate and implement studies in line with scientific, ethical and regulatory requirements\u00a0
\n\tUndertake research on biomarkers and risk factors, including epigenetic and molecular analyses\u00a0
\n\tAnalyse and manage research data and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures\u00a0
\n\tPublish scientific outputs in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at scientific forums\u00a0
\n\tSecure and contribute to competitive research funding and grant applications\u00a0
\n\tEngage in research translation activities, stakeholder engagement, and community outreach\u00a0
\n\tMentor and co-supervise postgraduate students and contribute to capacity development\u00a0
\n\tContribute to SAMRC and NCDRU initiatives, including administration and reporting<\/p>\n
Core requirements:<\/p>\n
\tMaster\u2019s degree in biomedical science or related field\u00a0
\n\tMinimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in RNA extraction and microRNA profiling\u00a0
\n\t3 years\u2019 experience in DNA extraction and DNA methylation analysis\u00a0
\n\tExperience in functional gene silencing and overexpression in tissue culture models\u00a0
\n\tAt least two lifetime publications, including one as first author\u00a0
\n\tProven record of presentations at national conferences\u00a0
\n\tExperience co-supervising postgraduate students\u00a0<\/p>\n
