Bilnor Staffing Solutions’ client in the engineering sector is looking for a Workshop Assistant to join their team for permanent positions in Middelburg, MP. \u00a0This is a urgent vacancy.

\n\tThe ideal candidate should be eager to learn, physically fit, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced workshop environment.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tAssist Fitters, Turners, and other artisans with daily workshop activities.
\n\tSupport the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and components.
\n\tOperate basic workshop machinery and hand tools under supervision.
\n\tAssist with measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting tasks.
\n\tMaintain workshop cleanliness and ensure tools and equipment are stored correctly.
\n\tLoad, unload, and move materials and components as required.
\n\tConduct basic inspections of equipment and report defects or safety concerns.
\n\tAdhere to company safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
\n\tAssist with stock control, tool management, and material handling.
\n\tPerform any other workshop-related duties as assigned by management.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tFitter & Turner qualification, apprenticeship, or relevant mechanical engineering training advantageous.
\n\t1\u20133 years’ experience in a mechanical, engineering, manufacturing, or mining workshop environment.
\n\tBasic understanding of fitting, turning, machining, and workshop practices.
\n\tAbility to read and interpret basic engineering drawings will be advantageous.
\n\tCompetent in the use of hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery.
\n\tPhysically fit and capable of performing manual labour.
\n\tGood communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
\n\tStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
\n\tValid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
\n\tMust be willing to work overtime when required.<\/p>\n
