Purpose of the job<\/p>\n
\tThe role will be responsible to define the direction, objectives, strategies, implementation, and operations of technology infrastructures, which includes data centre, network, and server services. The role must ensure IT infrastructure availability, integrity, and security, including the operation of Government- wide networks.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibility Areas<\/p>\n
\tProvide strategic direction and oversee provisioning of an array of secure and optimized IT hosting services such as application hosting, web hosting, storage, backup and disaster recovery service packages to house, service, and maintain government information.
\n\tDrives the implementation of cloud computing strategy for SITA to enable effective and efficient government services and a modernized technology platform to improve the machinery of government and optimize service delivery to the citizens and businesses of South Africa to ensure strategic intent, value-added investment that enables government agility.
\n\tDefine the direction, objectives, and strategies for Networks, Software Management, Mobility, and Support services for all systems.
\n\tOversee the provision of service packages that provide customers with the capability to effectively monitor, evaluate, and continually improve services received from service providers using international best practice frameworks and quality standards.
\n\tContinually strive for improved efficiency to ensure that SITA\u2019s service is cost-competitive.
\n\tEnsure effective management of resources (i.e., budget\/finances, assets) within the Unit.
\n\tEnsure effective Human Capital Management (Leadership).
\n\tManage compliance management processes within the department.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
\tRequired Qualification: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent.
\n\tExperience: 12+ years of professional experience in a technical role in IT Infrastructure (Hosting, Networks, Server Management etc.) in an ICT organization plus 3+ years working experience at an Executive Management level.<\/p>\n
The experience should include:<\/p>\n
\t5+ years in senior technical operations management in one or more of the following:
\n\tHosting with experience in Cloud Computing
\n\tExperience in developing and implementing IT infrastructure operating models.
\n\tICT Security
\n\tUnderstanding of Applications underlying cloud and hosting capabilities.
\n\tExperience in managing, monitoring, and reviewing complex operational service delivery and a program of ICT projects and developments.
\n\tExperience in delivering and managing cloud based SAAS solutions at enterprise scale
\n\tExperience of leading in an Agile environment with understanding of agile principles and proven track record in their application.
\n\tExperience in managing, monitorg, and reviewing complex operational service delivery and a programme of ICT projects and developments.
\n\tAbility to work with key vendor partners shaping the product direction in support of both business and technology needs while ensuring a robust and cost-effective computing environment.<\/p>\n
