Job Description<\/p>\n
\tA well-established textile manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Electrical Foreman to join its Electrical Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of electricians and maintenance personnel while actively participating in electrical maintenance, fault finding, breakdown repairs, project work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n\tThis is a working foreman role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tSupervise and coordinate the daily activities of electricians and maintenance personnel.
\n\tPerform electrical fault finding, troubleshooting, and breakdown repairs.
\n\tConduct preventative and planned maintenance on plant equipment.
\n\tRead and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
\n\tPlan and oversee electrical installations, wiring layouts, conduit systems, and panel locations.
\n\tMonitor maintenance KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
\n\tEnsure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.
\n\tSupport production teams to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
\n\tTrain, mentor, and develop electricians and maintenance staff.
\n\tEnsure availability of materials, tools, and equipment for maintenance and project work.
\n\tParticipate in plant improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
\n\tManage contractor activities where required.
\n\tEnsure work is conducted according to company procedures and applicable legislation.
\n\tParticipate in standby duties and overtime as operational requirements dictate.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tQualified Electrician with a recognised Trade Test.
\n\tMinimum N4 Electrical Trade Theory.
\n\tValid driver’s licence.
\n\tComputer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in an industrial\/manufacturing environment.
\n\tProven experience supervising electricians and maintenance teams.
\n\tStrong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
\n\tExperience with AC and DC motors, drives, and industrial electrical systems.
\n\tExperience reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.<\/p>\n
Advantageous<\/p>\n
\tTextile manufacturing experience.
\n\tWireman’s Licence.<\/p>\n
