\n\t7 – 9 years\u2019 experience, of which 3 \u2013 4 years at middle management level;\u00a0
\n\tUnderstanding of the City\u2019s strategy and departmental strategic framework;\u00a0
\n\tAdministrative capacity and leadership;\u00a0
\n\tStakeholder management savvy and sensitivity;\u00a0

Primary Function:<\/p>\n
\tProvide a comprehensive Communications support function to the Department by managing the team\u2019s (communication\/stakeholder engagement\/community facilitation) outputs, dealing with proactive media relations, planning, development strategies, process daily queries and \u201ccrises management\u201d, engaging with other spheres of government regarding policies and service delivery programs and ensure adherence and compliance to the CoJ communication policies and protocols.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tIdentify and define immediate, short and long term objectives associated with the Communications Services and processes;\u00a0
\n\tGive input into the preparation, monitoring and controlling of the annual Communications budget;\u00a0
\n\tDirect and control outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the Communications Section\/Unit. Identify and define the immediate, short and long term objectives\/plans associated with the provision of administrative support to the directorate;\u00a0
\n\tDevelop, implement and monitor stakeholder communications strategy to set the standard, address communication matters, and ensure consistency and alignment to the CoJ strategy;\u00a0
\n\tIdentify the strengths and weaknesses of the current internal and external communication in order to determine the effectiveness of employed strategies and take remedial steps where necessary;\u00a0
\n\tLead the civic education campaigns;\u00a0
\n\tManage and control outgoing communication;\u00a0
\n\tHandle media enquiries effectively;\u00a0
\n\tInfluence the media opinion during media briefings, media induction sessions, media tours and media networking sessions;\u00a0
\n\tProcure goods and services for directorate in consultation with Director: Business Management Support;\u00a0
\n\tResponsible for the development and implementation of all strategic marketing plans and put together and advertising strategy and ensure consistent brand awareness;\u00a0
\n\tManage and coordinate campaign activities, exhibitions and promotions aimed to reach the target audience of the Department.<\/p>\n
