Your Purpose<\/p>\n
\tAs Warehouse Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse and dispatch team. Your focus will be on ensuring smooth distribution processes, maintaining accurate stock control, and promoting efficiency, safety, and teamwork. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Distribution Operations<\/p>\n
\tEnsure customer orders are dispatched accurately and on time.
\n\tMonitor stock levels, manage waste, and ensure stock is packed and transported correctly to prevent damages.
\n\tEnsure Inter Branch Transfers are managed within required timeframes.
\n\tSchedule vehicles in line with store requirements and ensure cost-effective transport planning.
\n\tNegotiate transportation rates and manage dispatch timing to avoid penalties.
\n\tIdentify and implement process improvements and troubleshoot logistical challenges proactively.<\/p>\n
Staff & Performance Management<\/p>\n
\tLead and manage warehouse and dispatch staff, promoting high morale and accountability.
\n\tSchedule employees based on operational needs and oversee attendance and timekeeping.
\n\tManage performance, issue disciplinary warnings fairly, and support staff training and development.
\n\tMonitor and update digital timesheets and ensure all staff adhere to company uniform standards.<\/p>\n
Team Culture & Leadership<\/p>\n
\tPromote a collaborative and respectful team environment.
\n\tMaintain open communication, provide clear guidance, and be approachable to team members.
\n\tLead by example and foster a motivated, productive team culture.<\/p>\n
Health & Safety Compliance<\/p>\n
\tEnsure staff are trained in warehouse and dispatch safety protocols.
\n\tEnforce compliance with South African health and safety regulations.
\n\tEnsure all PPE requirements are met.
\n\tInvestigate incidents or accidents within 24 hours.<\/p>\n
Housekeeping<\/p>\n
\tMaintain cleanliness and order across all workstations and warehouse areas.<\/p>\n
General Standards<\/p>\n
\tEnsure staff maintain professional appearance and follow company SOPs.
\n\tUphold time management and minimize absenteeism.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or equivalent
\n\tTertiary qualification in logistics\/supply chain (advantageous)
\n\t4+ years of retail or warehouse experience
\n\t4+ years in a managerial role leading 18+ staff
\n\tStrong customer service and communication skills
\n\tHigh attention to detail and time management
\n\tComputer literacy in Word, Excel; Sage Pastel is a plus
\n\tValid driver\u2019s license and own reliable vehicle<\/p>\n
