The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:<\/p>\n
\tEffective and efficient supervision of the mining crew to achieve production targets
\n\tPlan, schedule and control activities to ensure availability of resources, materials and equipment
\n\tEffective management of materials, consumables and explosives
\n\tParticipate in waiting place \/ pre-shift meetings and ensure parameters relating to quality, quantity, cost and safety are understood
\n\tTeam and self-perform drilling, blasting, lashing, shaft lining and equipping to standard
\n\tTeam and self-understand and comply with M&RC\u2019s policies, procedures, standards
\n\tProactive risk identification and mitigation in compliance with DMR, M&RC and Client\u2019s safety requirements
\n\tEffective self-management and alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives<\/p>\n
Minimum requirements<\/p>\n
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
\n\tBlasting Certificate
\n\tBasic Rigging Certificate
\n\tOnsetter Certificate [advantageous]
\n\tLicence to Supervise or equivalent supervisory qualification
\n\tValid First Aid Certificate
\n\tSupervisory skills
\n\tProficient in Microsoft [Word and Excel]
\n\tPlanning and organising skills
\n\tGood English verbal and written communication skills<\/p>\n
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:<\/p>\n
\tAt least 4 years as Vertical Shaft Equipper with experience in heavy steel erection, underground construction, re-enforcing and form work
\n\tExperience in effective team supervision and planning, organising and control of activities to achieve production targets
\n\tExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
\n\tWorking knowledge of bulk heads, conveyor belts, tip and box fronts<\/p>\n
