\n\tData Governance has grown significantly in prominence in the data industry. \u00a0For Rank, operating in a heavily regulated industry, \u00a0this has always been the case. \u00a0That is why this role has been created, to ensure this new project has the right level of governance and control to succeed in the project delivery and it\u2019s on-going operation. Data Governance really is the cornerstone for the data strategy at Rank Group. \u00a0
\n\tAs the Data Governance Lead you will embed work with the NextGen project team, engineers, architects and testers as well as the Data Team, to ensure the project delivers the business\u2019 data, as it is needed.\u00a0
\n\tYou’ll be pivotal in ensuring that data delivers value to the business, a corporate focus is needed on data quality, data management principles, policies and procedures, standards and definitions, along with pragmatic action oriented working groups. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Data Requirements Oversight:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tWorking with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and liaising with the NextGen project team to ensure these needs are met.\u00a0
\n\tLiaising with the Data Team architecture, engineering and governance leads to ensure the right data is presented to the right place at the right time\u00a0<\/p>\n
Data Standardisation:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBased on input from the Data Team and stakeholders, you will define the standard data models, elements and definitions that will be deployed across NextGen\u2019s decentralised data environments.\u00a0
\n\tWorking the project engineers and architects you will define the appropriate data models to ensure that the right data is presented to Rank\u2019s Central Data Platform\u00a0<\/p>\n
Metadata Management:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tOversee the creation and maintenance of metadata repositories to document data lineage, definitions, and classifications.\u00a0
\n\tFacilitate the adoption of metadata standards across the NextGen project.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Data Stewardship:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tWork with business units to define data ownership and stewardship responsibilities.\u00a0
\n\tProvide guidance and support to data stewards in resolving data-related issues and ensuring compliance with data governance policies.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Data Definition and Cataloguing:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDocumenting the data standards, lineage, definitions and business context behind the data created in the NextGen project\u00a0
\n\tCapturing this data in Rank\u2019s Data Catalogue and working with the Data Team to ensure data quality rules are built in the Data Quality tool.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Data Governance Reporting:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tProvide regular communication with the Head of Data Governance to ensure appropriate progress is made and the project remains on track\u00a0
\n\tLiaising with the Data Governance Council to ensure the business is aware of progress\/ challenges\u00a0<\/p>\n
Change Management:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tSupport change management efforts related to the adoption of data governance practices.\u00a0
\n\tEngage with stakeholders to address concerns and promote a data-centric culture.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Qualifications
\nWhat\u2019s needed for success \u2013 Experience & Qualifications:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tExcellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to communicate with senior stakeholder management\u00a0
\n\tA Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate if and where issues are identified\u00a0
\n\tA passion for data and doing the right things the right way\u00a0
\n\tA data background (c. 5 years +), ideally in data governance or an architecture role\u00a0
\n\tAn understanding of data modelling\u00a0
\n\tThe ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight timelines\u00a0<\/p>\n
