Duties include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
\tConferring with clients to determine their hairdressing needs, preferences, and specifications.
\n\tAdvising clients on suitable haircuts as well as hairstyles and hair color based on their physical features and hair type.
\n\tCutting, trimming, and shaping clients’ hair as well as wigs, hair extensions, hairpieces, and toupes based on clients\u2019 preferences and specifications.
\n\tShampooing, conditioning, and drying clients\u2019 hair.
\n\tProviding various hair coloring treatments to clients after inquiring into possible hair dye sensitivities and allergies that they may have.
\n\tUsing various hairstyling tools and equipment, including hair straighteners, curling irons, rollers, hairdryers, and hot combs, to style clients\u2019 hair accordingly.
\n\tCleaning and sterilizing all hairdressing tools and instruments to ensure that state health and safety standards are met.
\n\tAble to work in relaxed, informal and buzzy atmosphere
\n\tSociable, meeting new people from all walks of life
\n\tTransforming people\u2019s look and making them feel good about themselves
\n\tClean and tidy work environment
\n\tComply with Covid-19 regulations<\/p>\n
Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tFull cosmetology license or specific license for hair designers and hairdressers
\n\tPassing score on state hairstyling examinations
\n\tQCTO – Occupational Certificate in Hairdressing NQF Level 4 (Red seal trade test certificate)\u00a0<\/p>\n
Experience and Knowledge:<\/p>\n
\tWork experience as a Hair Stylist, Hairdresser, Colorist or similar role
\n\tProficiency in hair straightening and curling methods, using hot irons and curlers
\n\tHands-on experience with various coloring techniques
\n\tAdaptable – exploring creativity and staying on top of the latest trends
\n\tStrong knowledge of classic and creative cutting technique
\n\tGood colour knowledge
\n\tStrong on customer service
\n\tReliable – keep to the appointment times so clients aren\u2019t sitting and waiting all day.<\/p>\n
