Duties and responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tPresent undergraduate and post graduate modules in religion studies and related sub-disciplines.\u00a0
\n\tActively do research in a relevant field\/s of Religion studies.
\n\tSynthesize knowledge through the publication of scientific papers in peer reviewed journals.
\n\tParticipate in conferences.
\n\tParticipate actively in leadership and administration at the departmental and faculty levels.
\n\tLead Departmental monthly postgraduate seminars.\u00a0
\n\tParticipate in variously scholarly engagement opportunities at research, community engagement, or in-service learning levels. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Inherent requirements:<\/p>\n
Lecturer<\/p>\n
\tA PhD in Theology or related discipline on NQF Level 10 (for a permanent appointment)\u00a0<\/p>\n
or<\/p>\n
\tMaster\u2019s degree in Theology or related discipline on NQF Level 9 (contract appointment: five years during which a PhD on NQF Level 10 in Theology or related discipline MUST be obtained to be converted to a permanent position).\u00a0
\n\tProven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
\n\tEvidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
\n\tA good academic record (attach a copy).<\/p>\n
Senior Lecturer<\/p>\n
\tPhD on NQF Level 10 in Theology or related discipline.
\n\tProven experience in the presentation of papers\/posters at national scholarly conferences.
\n\tProven national recognition for specialist expertise and research in a specific area of scholarship.
\n\tAn NRF rating or demonstrated potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
\n\tProven experience in supervision of graduated master\u2019s degree students.
\n\tA proven research record of relevant publication\/s in peer reviewed national and international accredited scientific journals.\u00a0
\n\tProven experience of service as an active member of a national or international scholarly society or committee or agency concerned with research at higher-education levels.<\/p>\n
Recommendations:<\/p>\n
\tA PhD in Religion Studies.
\n\tTwo years\u2019 relevant teaching experience in the higher education environment.
\n\tKnowledge and experience of online teaching tools such as blackboard.
\n\tProven research record of relevant publications in national accredited journals.
\n\tMember of or registration with a professional body.
\n\tMember of a national or international scholarly society or committee.
\n\tMember of or registration with a professional body<\/p>\n
