\nClaims Assistant \u2013 (25000019)
\nJob Purpose and Key responsibilities
\nJob purpose
\nAssist in processing and payment of general insurance claims.
\nKey responsibilities
\n1. Receive claims notification, acknowledge, register and process as per the insurance policy in place.
\n2. Review documents and pertinent requirements regarding an insurance claim and check completeness and if and complies with the documentary requirements of an insurance claim
\n3. Advice claimants regarding basic matters about their insurance coverage in relation to the insurance claim.
\n4. Issuing authorization letters, settlement offers as approved and monitor progress
\n5. Respond to both internal and external claims inquiries concerning benefits, claims process, service providers, and the filing\/completion of proper forms
\n6. Record all claims transactions in pure system with correct reserves.
\n7. Proactive communication and feedback provision to clients\/intermediaries on claims progress
\n8. Appointment of service providers and close follow up on their delivery.
\n9. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

\nKnowledge, experience and qualifications required
\nKnowledge, experience and qualifications required
\n1. Bachelor\u2019s degree (insurance option preferred)
\n2. Professional qualification in Insurance (Certificate CII)<\/p>\n
3. At least one year experience in the insurance industry
\n4. Experience in customer, market and competitor understanding
\n5. Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements
\n6. Knowledge of Britam products
