It harnesses the experience, resources and reach of its more than 1,300 Member organizations and the input of more than 10,000 experts. IUCN is the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it.<br \/>\nIUCN has had its operations in Tanzania for more than four decades working with many partners and supporters to implement a large and diverse portfolio of conservation projects ranging from management of protected areas, forest ecosystems, coastal resources, aquatic ecosystems, and climate change resilience. IUCN\/Tanzania, among other projects, is currently implementing the activity, \u201cScaling-up Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change Resilience in Tanzania\u201d (RESOLVE-NbS).<br \/>\nRESOLVE NbS focuses on the deployment of NbS to address challenges posed by changing climatic conditions to enhance the resilience of social and ecological systems. The activity targets on the ground implementation to demonstrate the contribution and impact of NbS in the implementation of Tanzania\u2019s ambitious climate resilience goals as stipulated in the Tanzania\u2019s NDC of reducing emissions between 30-35% by 2030 and restoring 5.2 million hectares by 2030. The priority sectors are biodiversity and natural resources management, business and climate finance.<br \/>\nSpecifically, the project intends to:<br \/>\ni. Enhance awareness, capacity, and knowledge management for improved NbS planning, mainstreaming and implementation.<br \/>\nii. Implement NbS for ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), disaster risk reduction and mitigation through pilot and scale-up projects and contribute to conservation, sustainable management, and restoration of natural ecosystems.<br \/>\niii. Integrate gender-sensitive NbS and climate-smart planning into adaptation and disaster reduction policies, strategies, and plans.<br \/>\nBased on the above background, IUCN Tanzania is seeking to recruit a Programme Officer, Natural Resources Management (NRM) to support the execution of Resolve NbS project that will be implemented in Morogoro and Iringa regions.<br \/>\nJOB DESCRIPTION<br \/>\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:<br \/>\nUnder direct supervision of the Programme Manager, the Programme Officer, Natural Resources Management will primarily be responsible for the overall implementation of RESOLVE NbS project in the Morogoro and Iringa regions, working closely and supporting Local Government Authorities and Implementing Partners, while at the same time contributing to the broader NRM portfolio under IUCN Tanzania. He or She will be responsible for landscape level programme oversight and will monitor the development and implementation of project plans and activities in close consultation with counterparts from the implementing partners. He\/ She will provide leadership in natural resources management, community engagement, assessment and capacity building activities.<br \/>\nThe Programme Officer, Natural Resources Management will be responsible for planning, administration, financial management and technical implementation and monitoring of the project goals and the objectives.<br \/>\nS\/He will regularly liaise with RESOLVE NbS implementing partners, local government agencies, other CSOs and NGOs, local communities and community-based organizations representing the values and interests of IUCN.<br \/>\nSPECIFIC DUTIES;<br \/>\nUnder the direction of the Programme Manager, the specific responsibilities of the Programme Officer, Natural Resources Management are to:<br \/>\nProject Management;<br \/>\nCoordinate landscape level implementation of natural resources-based aspects of the RESOLVE NbS Project.<br \/>\nIntegrate natural resources management (including land, water, and forests) with sustainable livelihoods.<br \/>\nProvide technical assistance to project partners in development and implementation of NRM strategies and plans<br \/>\nBuild capacities of stakeholders at national and landscape level on sustainable management of natural resources<br \/>\nFacilitate the preparation of annual work plans and budgets.<br \/>\nLead on project reporting, including technical and financial reports, partnership agreements, and service contracts of assigned partners.<br \/>\nPromote the dissemination and application of IUCN\u2019s knowledge tools and standards on NbS, including the IUCN Global Standard for NbS, Natural Resources Governance Framework (NRGF) and accompanying tools<br \/>\nDocument and share lessons learned to inform the continuous improvement of NbS practices and to<br \/>\nContribute to preparation of all reports related to project as per the project document and ensure timely submission.<br \/>\nOrganize and assist with meetings, workshops, presentations and other project events.<br \/>\nCarry out other tasks assigned by, and mutually agreed with the line manager.<br \/>\nFinancial Management;<br \/>\nContribute to annual project budgeting<br \/>\nFacilitate project level procurement actions in line with IUCN and donor policies and standards.<br \/>\nEnsure that project activities are on-time, on-budget, and on-track for contributing to the achievement of the projects\u2019 objectives and contractual obligations.<br \/>\nEnsure timely financial expenditure monitoring and accountability for IUCN-led and partners activities.<br \/>\nMonitoring, Evaluation, Communications and Knowledge Management;<br \/>\nIn coordination with M&amp;E Officer develop and apply the project monitoring instruments and systems including periodic data collection and reporting.<br \/>\nUndertake regular visits to project sites and evaluate programmatic outputs and impact both quantitatively and in terms of quality implementation.<br \/>\nSupport the updating of the project on the IUCN portal with relevant project data.<br \/>\nIn coordination with Communications team, document case studies, best practices and lessons learned and contribute to the development of communication materials for dissemination to target audiences.<br \/>\nFundraising and project development;<br \/>\nSupport the identification of new funding opportunities to scale-out project activities.<br \/>\nContribute to the development of new project proposals.<br \/>\nSupport networking with key development partners, national institutions and NGOs to support project implementation.<br \/>\nKeep abreast of development needs and programme opportunities in the landscape including those in line with IUCN\u2019s sectoral priorities and programmatic principles.<br \/>\nRepresentation;<br \/>\nNetwork and liaise with all the partners and potential partners, developing and maintaining partnerships and strong relationships across all sectors (including the private sector).<br \/>\nMaintain good working relationships with MDAs, non-state actors, private sector, community leadership and visiting donor teams.<br \/>\nRepresent IUCN on issues at strategic, policy and technical meetings, seminars and other events and processes as may be required from time to time.<br \/>\nREQUIREMENTS<br \/>\n\u2022 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:<br \/>\nEducation ;<br \/>\nPost-graduate degree in environmental sciences, biodiversity, natural resources management, water resources management, economics, development studies, anthropology, biological sciences, project management, community development or related subjects<br \/>\nComputer literacy in relation to office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint) use of internet and online communication tools.<br \/>\nWork Experience;<br \/>\nAt least five years of professional experience in environment, natural resources management, biodiversity restoration, agribusiness, project management, community development or in sustainable development.<br \/>\nPractical experience in leading \/ supporting the implementation of field-based projects including on biodiversity conservation.<br \/>\nExperience in creating and facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues, partnerships and synergies.<br \/>\nStrong ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, and multitask to meet tight deadlines<br \/>\nExperience in writing proposals and reports<br \/>\nKnowledge of issues related to climate change, nature-based solutions i.e. restoration will be an added advantage.<br \/>\nSolid knowledge of conservation, climate change, nature-based solutions, land tenure and governance, and sustainable development policy issues.<br \/>\nExperience in the working with local government entities, community conservation groups, FFPOs, CBOs, Private Sector, and other value chain actors.<br \/>\nComputer literacy in relation to office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint) use of internet and online communication tools such as MS Teams.<br \/>\nLanguage Requirements;<br \/>\nFluency in English and Kiswahili (both written and verbal).<br \/>\nCore
