\nResponsibilities\u00a0<\/p>\n
Designing optimal blast patterns, planning, and implementing drilling and blasting operations to achieve production targets, maximize ore recovery, and minimize environmental impact and risks.
\nWork with technical experts to optimize drilling and blasting operations to ensure the design objectives are met.
\nCoordinate and communicate drill and blast plans with production, geology, and planning teams.
\nProvide leadership to Engineers, Graduates and operations staff in drill and blast design.
\nEnsure all blasting activities adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
\nMonitor and analyze drill and blast performance, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
\nWork closely with production teams to ensure seamless execution of drill and blast activities.
\nManage relationships with external contractors and suppliers to optimize drill and blast operations.
\nConduct technical evaluations of explosives and blasting techniques to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.
\nManage and ensure the performance and compliance requirements are met.
\nBudget preparation and cost management control.
\nEnsure quality of work through an ongoing leadership, monitoring and audit process.
\nMake sure on availability of drill stock-drill reserve -floor stock are sufficient to keep mining operation on going
\nCost effectively management of the supply of drilling and blasting consumables, products and services.
\nParticipate and contribute to safe practice and environmental and Social Responsibility
\nDemonstrate visible safety leadership to the team and live the Barrick DNA.
\nAll possible hazards on route and inside workplaces identified, rectified and\/or reported daily when on shift.<\/p>\n
Qualification requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in mining engineering.
\nHaving a valid blasting certificate as per Tanzania regulations and or act(s).
\nTeam Player and result oriented.
\nMines Health & Safety Act Awareness.
\nAbility to train less experienced members of the staff.
\nMaintain a safe working practice and environment.
\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment.
\nUG Mining Methods and Systems
\nHaving blasting certificate
\nMust have computer skills in power point, M\/S word and MS excel.<\/p>\n
Experience and Competencies needed<\/p>\n
5 years of progressive UG experience in the mining industry including experience UG drilling and blasting activities
\nExperience in coordinating and managing a sizable drill fleet in tough working conditions
\nExperience as a Drill & Blast coordinator in UG environment
\nUnderstanding of blast management practices including designs, vibration, noise & fume monitoring, and continuous improvement processes.
\nAbility to work autonomously\/independently with limited supervision.
\nAble to prepare detailed reports which include recommendations to Management on improvements to industrial relations and security.
\nAbility to act and operate as part of a team and possess a \u201ccan do\u201d attitude that will motivate the crew to action company directives, regardless of opinion.
\nGood time management skills and the ability to complete tasks in a safe, timely and professional fashion.
\nAbility to coordinate drilling and blast activity and mining operation
\nAble to have good fragmentation which can boost mining efficiency
\nExcellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
\nHazard Identification & Risk Assessment.
\nPossess a Tanzania Driving License.<\/p>\n
