\nZanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa is currently looking for its future\u00a0PURCHASING MANAGER.
\nMain Mission:
\nThe \u00c9conome is responsible for the management of the hotel\u2019s or restaurant\u2019s inventories, purchases, and resources. They ensure that the property operates
\nefficiently by controlling costs, preventing waste, and maintaining optimal stock levels for all departments.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n1. Inventory and Stock Management:
\no Oversee the management of all supplies, including food, beverage, housekeeping materials, and equipment.
\no Conduct regular stock checks, ensuring that inventory levels are accurate, and no shortages occur.
\no Maintain proper storage conditions and ensure that all products are used in accordance with expiration dates.
\n2. Purchasing and Supplier Coordination:
\no Coordinate purchasing activities and negotiate with suppliers to ensure that the hotel\/restaurant receives competitive prices and favourable
\nterms.
\no Ensure all orders are placed in a timely manner to maintain stock levels without overstocking.<\/p>\n
o Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance to ensure consistent supply chain efficiency.
\n3. Cost Control:
\no Help develop and implement procedures to minimize waste and reduce inventory costs.
\no Work closely with the finance department to ensure that purchases are in line with budget and cost control targets.
\no Monitor stock usage across departments (kitchen, housekeeping, etc.) and ensure that all departments are operating within their budget.
\n4. Reporting and Documentation:
\no Prepare and maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions.
\no Provide regular reports on stock levels, usage, and order needs to the management team.
\no Ensure proper documentation and organization of all inventory-related activities.
\n5. Waste Management:
\no Monitor and analyse waste across all areas of operation, including food waste, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
\no Implement strategies to reduce waste and increase efficiency, such as rotating stock and managing product shelf life.
\n6. Compliance and Hygiene:
\no Ensure that all inventory practices comply with health and safety regulations.
\no Maintain proper hygiene and safety standards in the storage areas.

\nQualifications and Skills:<\/p>\n
Education: Degree or diploma in hospitality management, business administration, or related field.
\nExperience: 4-5 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software, MS Office, and other relevant tools.
\nSoft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, good
\ncommunication skills, and the ability to work with multiple departments to achieve goals.
\nInternational experience (particularly in East Africa) a plus<\/p>\n
