\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
\nTo provide expert diagnostic, maintenance and repair expert input to the execution of maintenance for the TEREX (RH170, RH40)\/CAT6040 and CAT mining fleets. This is to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate also requires effective transfer of skills and knowledge to junior national mechanics following the set development plans.
\nQUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
Full Technician Certificate (FTC)\/ Diploma in Mechanical\/ Automotive Engineering.
\nRelevant Trade test Qualifications.
\nMust possess valid Tanzanian Driving license.<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
A qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic with Auto Electrical experience.
\nA \u00a0minimum of 10 years\u2019 experience in Heavy mining equipment\u2019s maintenance repair with at least 5 years working \u00a0in international\/ multi-national organizations.
\nExtensive experience with the maintenance of TEREX and CATERPILLAR mining equipment.
\nDemonstrable experience as trainer\/coach.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/p>\n
\u00a0To ensure effective transfer of skills and knowledge to junior national mechanics following the set development plans.
\nSupport workforce to work safely by identifying and managing workplace hazards associated with the work being performed.
\nProvide expert advice to maintenance supervisors and trades personnel engaged in the maintenance of the mining fleets as directed by the superintendents.
\nDevelopment of scope of work for major works associated with the mining fleet.
\nEnsure work is performed to the OEM\u2019s requirements and that best fitment and installation practices are adhered to and imparted to the workforce.
\nMonitor maintenance skill levels, providing necessary on the job training where necessary.
\nMaintain a register of training for maintainers and to ensure the workforce can work without supervision.
\nContinually check all work in progress monitoring quality.
\nWrite repair reports with photos on each major failure and document repairs of same.
\nSupport the team to comply with the work schedule while attending to emerging work efficiently and to ensure availability and reliability of equipment is optimized.
\nAssist the teams to develop work packages and procedures for all work performed so that accurate work packages are established for future work.
\nWork with the planners to ensure spares and materials are optimized under the VMI contract with MANTRAC.
\nHelp identify work to be raised through the maintenance system into each equipment\u2019s backlog for coming services.
\nBe part of an on-call roster which ensures experts are available for advice to remediate breakdowns and equipment reliability issues.
\nParticipate in internal audits and over-inspections to ensure adherence and compliance to asset management plans\/strategy.
\nManage and update the HME maintenance standard and SOP.
\nMonitor the stock levels of critical spares and supplies.
\nMonitor all HME to support day-to-day Open pit & underground mining activities.
\nMonitor (assess, record, feedback) equipment performance to ensure continuous\u00a0\u00a0 improvement.<\/p>\n
