The incumbent will be part of the leadership team within Global Markets, responsible for \u00a0trading foreign currencies, money markets and fixed income. As a Head trading, you will be responsible for managing currency exposure and executing trades to optimize financial performance as well as executing trades across fixed income securities, managing portfolio risk, and optimizing investment strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of global, regional and local FX markets, risk management, and strategic hedging to support our multinational operations as well as a deep understanding of bond markets, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
\nThe ideal candidate requires to have competency and experience in;
\n1.Trade Execution & Strategy:<\/p>\n
Execute spot, forward, and derivative FX trades to hedge corporate currency risks.
\nDevelop and implement trading strategies based on technical\/fundamental analysis .
\nExecute trades in government bonds, corporate bonds, and other fixed income instruments.<\/p>\n
2.Risk Management:<\/p>\n
Monitor and mitigate FX exposure using stop-loss orders, diversification, and scenario analysis.
\nEnsure compliance with internal risk limits and regulatory requirements.
\nDevelop and implement trading strategies to maximize returns while managing risk exposure.<\/p>\n
3.Market Analysis:<\/p>\n
Track macroeconomic indicators, geopolitical events, and central bank policies impacting currency markets.
\nMonitor market trends, liquidity conditions, and macroeconomic factors affecting fixed income markets.
\nGenerate reports for senior management on market trends and hedging performance.<\/p>\n
4.Stakeholder Collaboration:<\/p>\n
Work with finance, accounting, and business units to align FX and FI strategies with operational needs.
\nLiaise with external brokers, liquidity providers, and banking partners and market participants.
\nCollaborate with portfolio managers, research analysts, and sales teams to align trading activities with investment objectives.
\nStrong relationships across the industry and particular engaging with industry regulators including but not limited to BOT, CMSA, and MOF.
\nMarket development through thought leadership along with increasing breadth of Stanbic Banks product capabilities\/risk management solutions.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience \u00a0<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in finance, Economics, or a related field.
\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in FX and fixed income trading.
\nStrong knowledge of fixed income markets, trading platforms, and execution techniques.
\nProficiency in Bloomberg, Refinitiv or other trading\/analytical tools.
\nExcellent quantitative, analytical, and decision-making skills.
\nAbility to work under pressure and adapt to changing market conditions.
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n
