\nPosition: DRILLER x 2
\nContract type & Duration: One (1) year fixed term contract
\nDepartment: Open Pit Mining
\nReporting to: Supervisor \u2013 Mining Number of Positions: 3

\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:<\/p>\n
Selected candidates will first go through a practical training and assessment programme before they are considered for a role as an Operator, subject to qualifying as a competent operator.
\nMining Operator role is responsible for operating an equipment for the purpose of mining operations, to perform preventative and general inspection on equipment, delivering work to plan and ensuring safety processes and practices are followed.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n
A minimum certificate of Secondary School Education (CSEE) will add advantage.
\nA valid Tanzania Driver\u2019s license class B & D or higher EXPERIENCE:
\nExperience in the operation and maintenance of production drilling machines 5+ years);
\nexperience of insert as applicable e.g. Pantera1100. Down the Hole and Top Hammers Drills
\nExperience operating large rotary drills and hammer\/percussion drills;
\nAbility to safely work day and night shifts on a rotational basis;
\nStrong communication skills both verbal and written;
\nProven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental standards; and
\nExperience working at a remote mining site and in a cross-cultural work environment
\nExperience in mining industry, preferably with operations and open pit.
\nHeavy equipment certificate;
\nBe physically and mentally fit to operate a heavy mining equipment.
\nSelected candidates must be able to pass a \u2018site test\u2019 before they are appointed as trainees.
\nAppointment also subject to thorough medical check-up by authorized medical practitioner.
\nOperator certificate including final assessment from well and known technical training\u2019s schools.
\nStrong commitment to safety.
\nAll applicants must have NIDA ID or Number and TIN Number from the Tanzania Revenue Authority.
\nAll applicants must have Introduction Letter from local Government Authority as well as letter from his \/ her two referees.<\/p>\n

\nMAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/p>\n
Adhere to all training instructions from qualified equipment trainers and supervisors.
\nOperate Drilling equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
\nTake reasonable care to protect his or her health and safety, and that of other persons who may be affected by any act or omission thereof during performance of duty.
\nBe proactive in all aspects of operational safety and work as team member within the mining department.
\nPerform safety pre-start checks on equipment.
\nReport faults in equipment timeously to supervisor.
\nComply with standard Operating Procedures and working Practices.
\nAlways adhere to lawful production instructions.<\/p>\n

\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
Good team player.
\nFluency in Kiswahili or English or both.
\nBe able to work at minimum supervision.<\/p>\n
