\nRole Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Develop and outline a Customs & Excise Strategy for the business.
\nResponding to queries from the tax authority.
\nKeeping abreast of changes in legislation and informing the business on their potential impact.
\nThe management and review of all Customs & Excise declarations with a view to ensure the business is legally compliant with regulations.
\nSeeking of advance rulings from the tax authority on any tax matters that may be vague or ambiguous.
\nBuilding effective and collaborative relationships and networks, both internal and external.
\nEngaging the tax authority on tax procedure challenges faced by the business.
\nSupport with the development, design, and implementation of internal controls.
\nProvide guidance and support to the tax analyst and tax accountant.
\nParticipate in weekly and monthly supplier review meetings.
\nProviding technical support and advice to stakeholders within the business.<\/p>\n
Experience \/ skills required:
\nThe ideal person for this role is an individual who has:<\/p>\n
Team Management experience.
\nA good understanding of the Import\/Export requirements across Africa.
\nExperience in a busy, deadline driven environment
\nBasic knowledge of the logistics\/transport industry.
\nGreat attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
\nExperience of producing clear and detailed reports.
\nExcellent verbal, written communication, and administration skill.
\nThe ability to lead change in processes or procedures.<\/p>\n
Educations & Experience
\nAn undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
\nQualification in Tax management
\nDesirable:<\/p>\n
Considerable\u00a0relevant industry Customs & Excise Experience.
\nExperience\u00a0working with Customs data and knowledge of Customs legislation.<\/p>\n
