\nPURPOSE OF THE ROLE:\u00a0
\nGeita Gold mine is the gold mining and processing company, the company possesses gold processing machineries from crushing to final processed gold. The entire plant with its supporting auxiliaries is electrical driven of which it is automated and semi-automated in other external support equipment\u2019s (Water pumping stations, CAF plants and underground compressors). The core aim of this role is to effectively manage the execution of the maintenance activities from an Electrical point of view in the entire Process plant and external process plant services (Water pumping stations, CAF plants and underground compressors) to enable the Process Department to optimize plant production at a reasonable cost.
\nQUALIFICATIONS:\u00a0
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Form IV or Form VI Secondary Education with VETA Qualification Grade I or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Computer literate.
\n\u00a0
\nEXPERIENCE:
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0A minimum of 5 years working experience as an Electrician in process plant or acting as an Electrical Supervisor in the process plant.
\n\u00a0
\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge of PLC.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Possession of MV certificate of competence.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Experience of MV Switchgear and maintenance thereof.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Able to read\/interpret instrument and electrical drawings.
\nMAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Safety Health and Environment
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Take a lead role in driving the HSE management program in your area of responsibility and deliver the HSE objectives which include:
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Driving the zero harm and injuries initiative by actively promoting health and safety awareness
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Proactively managing and reducing all hazards in your area of responsibility
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibly
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Driving the safety leading indicators such as safety interventions, PTOs, inspections etc
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Driving the risk assessment process withing area of responsibility
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Participate and contribute to the compliance to national and international standards and regulations such as NEMC, ISO14001, ISO45001, IMIU, OSHAS, ICMI etc.
\n2. Planning and Execution of Electrical
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Planning and execution of all electrical activities (planned and unplanned) to achieve the targeted availability for the plant and supporting outside section.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Scheduling, planning and execution of periodic electrical related maintenance for process plant outside sections.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Managing and supervising the electrical crew in conducting maintenance duties.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensuring electrical repairs and installations for process plant and supporting outside section are carried out as per professional standard and effectively (in your area of responsibility).
\n3. Electrical Projects
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Preparing, planning and execution of new installations in collaboration with the OEM.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Testing and commissioning of new installations.
\n4. Budgeting and Cost Management
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Controlling spends against budgets and forecasts.
\n5. Training and Development
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Develop training needs for Electrical crews.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Facilitate training and coaching of crews (includes all safety related training).
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensure performance reviews are done correctly and on time.
\n6. Operational Excellence
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensure that operational excellence practices are adhered to e.g. visual boards.
\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Take a lead role in the identification and execution of improvement initiatives within electrical.
